[ you are underwater.

the sunlight filters through the depths at a slant, catching on colorful fish and sea creatures. the surface is some ways up, and the the sand is some ways below. coral reefs bloom beneath your feet, humming with life. in the not so far distance, spires rise, the murky outline of a structure, and it radiates power. to the other side, the ground slopes upwards to form shallows, meet the dry land.

where do you go? ]

[ oh. This is - VERY weird for a son of Hades - but given dream logic he's not immediately horrified, just alarmed somewhere in his basic ditch instincts. it's sort of pleasant, even. He never gets to see this view.

He takes a moment to pause and reach out for the coral reef, fascinated by the life there. but he's definitely drifting in the direction of the power structure. ]

[ there's a lot of life to see! the reef is bright and alive in a way he can feel in his bones.

but he'll also be able to tell that the power radiating off the buildings in the distance belongs to poseidon. it's the life pulsing through this entire ocean, through every ocean, and the epicenter is there at his palace ]

[ it's really nice, honestly. like his own power except ... life? Life feels GREAT actually.

He lingers with the fish a few more minutes before starting a leisurely swim in that direction. ]

[there's a moment--a brief moment, but still a moment--where he panics, holding his breath and trying not to inhale the water around him. there's a very, very human part of his brain that knows inhaling water means drowning.

then the dream kicks in, and of course you can breathe water in a dream. you can do whatever you want in a dream. so he settles and enjoys the strange view, watching how the sunlight plays off of the water, the coral.

once he's had his fill, curiosity absolutely dictates that he swim towards those murky structures not too far away]

[ the structures start to resolve into the shape of a palace. it's clearly beautiful, made of gleaming abalone and decorated with seashells and pearls and other treasures from the depths. power radiates out from it, brightening the sea, filling lethe with a sense of strength.

doesn't he want to go there? wouldn't it be nice to see it up close and go inside? ]

[he just wanted to go there because it's an underwater palace and that seems cool, but if it's ALSO making him feel powerful then of COURSE he wants to go there. give him super strength, shiny underwater palace]

[ for right now, he's just basking in place and getting used to the sensation, but eventually he'll drift toward the spires ]

[ the water is so warm and welcoming. he could probably take a killer nap if he wanted to.

schools of fish swim past as he goes, glimmering in many hues. and are those...some baby moon jellies drifting around? ]

[ is this the period for moonjellies . . . who knows. not stopping, per se, but he's not really in any hurry, so he'll watch the fish and jellies while he drifts ]

[Oh yay she love love LOVES the ocean!!!! And the only times she's seen it like this are those when the pasture turned her into a mermaid, so she is appearing in this dream as a red and black oarfish.]

[The spires in the distance are cool and all but her first priority is to sink straight to the bottom so she can lay on the sand and lovingly gaze upon some garden eels.]

aren't the eels great? they bloop out of the sand and glance at her in a way that somehow feels friendly before continuing with their business. they come in so many colors too. ]

[SHE LOVES YOU SO MUCH, GARDEN EELS!!!! what perfect little guys. She could easily just watch them doing cute eel things for hours. Maybe, due to how time works in dreams, several hours DO pass in the span of a few minutes.]

[eventually she will get up, but mostly because there are other little critters she wants to admire. She will start slowly picking her way along in the direction of the spires, taking time to stop and make heart eyes at any crabs or sea spiders or etc. she might find along the way.]

no, really. some dolphins approach and chitter at him excitedly. he can understand them, too! they're saying hi and how glad they are to see him! ]

you know you've wanted to see that palace — because it is a palace — for years. and you have the chance now, so why wouldn't you go?

and it is beautiful. even from a distance, it's all gleaming white seashell. it's huge, iridescent pearls giving off light. it's full of life — normal aquatic, mermaids and mermen, minor sea gods.

is that a lot of detail to notice, for watching it from the distance? that's fine. don't worry about it ]

ok no it's pretty easy to propel himself out onto the beach!!! luckily it's a warm summer day out and the sun's shinin'! good for drying off ]

[Well. If he is underwater then he's in his mer form; an elegant koi with flashy fins. For the moment, he simply observes the pretty life around him. The corals are so beautiful with all the little creatures.]

[ the corals are SO beautiful. the animal and plant life is vibrant and alive and full of color. does he want to come closer and observe these lovely garden eels, or those gently waving anemone? there are also turtles swimming their way along. he can tell that everyone would be happy to see him and talk to him ]
