[ WHEW LILY it sure has been a busy week! We have a lot of things to talk about!!

which is to say, we probably have assorted pillows and blankets piled into our new basement living room, with breakfast happening in the kitchen and jellyfish hangin' around elsewhere. and our assorted? fish related prizes??? ]

[ Kevin is still mcfuckin exhausted and also blind so you know what. He's made a small nest of blankets over here in the corner of one of the couches, albeit with his head very much poking out and enough of a cavern inside the blankets that he's not being squished in by them.

He has one of the memory coins they won and is now turning it over in his fingers carefully. hard to tell what he's looking at when he can't see. ]

What even is this?

[ he's pretty sure, given the tone, but not being able to see expressions is a HUGE pain. ]

[ cepheus had made himself pretty scarce in between meris things and the last ritual, but today he goes out of his way to make himself available. he!! is!! checking in!! on all of you!!!!!! less hovering than being present, or trying to be.

while holding his jar of baby moon jellies, probably. in between trying to help he's definitely showing them around lily's barn and meadow and talking to them softly, pausing now and again to listen, then laugh in response. ]

[ At some point during the jelly world tour, a shadow lifts itself out of the ground and tethers itself to Cepheus' leg. It goes taut, then tugs - and here's Kevin, cautiously following the shadow along to find Cepheus. ]

[ thank every god that he neither (1) trips and falls, nor (2) jumps out of his skin and drops the jar. he does startle though, before realizing what's going on ]

The baby jellyfish. They've never seen anything outside the ocean before? I thought I'd show them around a little.

... Can they see? Are they talking to you?

[ He approaches cautiously. ]

[ At some point when Cepheus takes his eyes off the jar for longer than 10 seconds, he'll turn back to find a little blue beetle robot pacing up the side of the jar ]

[ the bad thing is that holding the jar means the water's gone all dark and starry, like all water he touches right now. the good thing is that the baby jellies just kind of glow and aren't bothered ]

Not much. They can't understand a lot yet. So it's just like...you know when babies can't talk yet, but they make a bunch of sounds? It's like that.

[ Ananke's curled up in the corner of one of the couches with a book and a tall mug of piping hot tea beside him. He's occasionally shooting suspicious looks at a small beetle robot that's pacing around the ceiling and walls of the room ]

[squeezes onto the couch next to him with a book and a cup of coffee, like he's planning on settling in for a bit]

Are you getting used to him?

[ relaxes visibly in Lethe's presence, perking up a little ]

Kind of? It's still weird, but it's not as bad when he's mostly over there.

[charon has quietly dealt with the rest of his Ongoing Changes offscreen so. he's in a light shirt with parts of the back and sleeves torn out and pants that are also torn from the knee down to accomodate the growth of bony fins. you can see scales on every inch of his skin that shows, pale and translucently iridescent. it might be kind of weird to see him without his heavy outerwear on actually? he's still a big guy but he looks a lot less bulky without it.

(if you get up close to him it's also like. is that a bunch of scarring under the scales?)

he's puttering around the barn for the first little bit of the morning, tidying and making people an easy to digest breakfast in a weird parody of normalcy. but sometime later morning the dry air effect gets bad enough you can find him awkwardly writing notes at the edge of the saltwater lake while half-submerged instead, trying his best to keep the notebook from getting too wet.

[ as breakfast is being handled, Kevin lifts his head up from his small blanket nest. he can't see the changes, but with vision gone, his supernatural senses are a bit sharper. And Charon feels ... weird. ]

Did you get worse?

The transformation turned out extensive, but it seems to have paused for now, yes.

Do you feel up to eating something?

[ also at breakfast; ananke is bundled up in a similar blanket nest, positioned on the other end of the same couch Kevin's on. He's eyeing the scales, caught between fascination and some mild concern ]

It doesn't itch anymore, does it?

[he does not own a camera but he kinda takes a mental snapshot and adds this sight to his imaginary photo album, which is sometimes less imaginary than usual when you're the illusion team]

That...seems to have calmed down, yes. However, I suspect I'm going to need to spend time in the bathhouse or our pond or lake often until this wears off. Being out of them isn't...comfortable.

[ at some point, he's flopped onto his back to drowse by the side of the lake. by total and complete coincidence, his elbow never loses contact with the spine of the notebook; all the pages instantly dry themselves and stay dry, even if water splashes onto the paper while charon writes ]

[Lethe goes through the general motions of getting breakfast pulled together, feeding all of the animals that definitely don't live in Lily's pasture, checking on the single We Many blob that kind of looks dead in a little tank of water, and then decides that's enough chores for the day and picks a spot on the couch to Sit for a while]

[ Kevin has just stayed on the couch this whole time, but he lifts his head when he senses another presence. ]
