[ WHEW LILY it sure has been a busy week! We have a lot of things to talk about!!

which is to say, we probably have assorted pillows and blankets piled into our new basement living room, with breakfast happening in the kitchen and jellyfish hangin' around elsewhere. and our assorted? fish related prizes??? ]

I'll take full responsibility. Eating other people isn't allowed inside of the house, it has to follow the rules like everyone else.

Speaking of eating, I was thinking of going down to the kitchen. Want me to bring anything back for you?

How about I go with you? I know we've got junk food, but if we want to make sure we don't move for a bit then we should at least make a few savory side dishes too.

That's a good idea. I was going to grab a snack while I'm there, too.

What kind of savory snacks do you like? Besides blue. Hmm, wait, did I already ask you about this...? I feel like I ask every time we get someone new. I mostly know how to make Korean food, so just tell me if something isn't to your liking.

Anything? I'm not too picky. I don't know much about Korean food, though.

Well, side dishes are things like kimchi, soybean sprouts, seasoned spinach, spicy cucumber salad, steamed eggplants, braised potatoes--stuff like that. Those are nice for eating while you're cooking up meat, or even watching TV shows. There's also rice cakes filled with red bean paste, and sweet pancakes filled with brown sugar, and we can make fish-shaped pastries since we have the cooker for them.

Then I'll make a few different things for you to try. Whatever you're not a fan of, I'll finish off.

I thought we were talking about not giving you more work to do.

I like cooking though! If it sounds like too much work then you can help me make them. It's not hard.

Really? Yeah, if you don't think I'll mess anything up.

Most of it is chopping and seasoning vegetables. Even if they turn out awkwardly shaped, they're still edible. Nothing to really mess up there.

[once they get into the kitchen he starts pulling out veggies for chopping up]

[ gonna set his jar of moon jellies somewhere safely out of the way, then wash his hands before going to see what lethe's setting up ]

[he pulls out a ton of jars of pre-made sauces to stick next to the veggies before grabbing out some batter and a lil taiyaki machine and some batter. he was not kidding about the fish pastries.

starts pointing to dishes as he washes up his hands, slow enough for Cepheus to follow along.]

Please chop up those vegetables and put them in a shallow dish; those ones we can steam before we toss them with a sauce. Those ones are fine raw, we'll just add some seasonings and let them sit so the flavor soaks in. There's some rice cakes in the fridge already that we can pull out when we head back. Have you made homemade popcorn before? We've got a ton of the kernels on the second shelf in the pantry that you can season however you'd like.

[ immediately shoving one or two of the "fine raw" veggies in his mouth as he listens, thanks. and pays attention,,, starting off with the veggies to chop. ]

Definitely butter for the popcorn, if we have enough.

There's butter in the fridge. We've got plenty for this; snacks are an important part of downtime after all!

Oh, yeah, I got chocolate too. Spun the wheel and everything.

Really? Your luck is amazing. If the wheel doesn't work we can always try to ask Miss Coco for specific food items, but it's less work to get it on the first spin. Now we can make pretty much any snack we want!

[ laughs ]

My luck is amazingly bad. This was a one time only special.

Don't say that. Think positive! You're going to become our new good luck charm for spinning that wheel.

You're setting yourself up for disappointment, but that's fine if you wanna.

You'll have to have a lot of bad luck to prove me wrong. And I don't think that'll happen.

[ OPENS AND CLOSES HIS MOUTH AND GOES BACK TO CHOPPING ]

Your reaction is making me more concerned than anything else. I know what it's like to feel unlucky, so I can be the first to tell you that luck can change. You really think your luck is that bad?
