Ah...most people's lives are pretty normal, so it can fluctuate depending on how they're living. That's standard, isn't it? It's the same for me. But it's possible to calculate it and say, "This is about how much life you have left before your body gives out on you." In some cases.

How do you know that? Is it a magic thing or--?

I had a device that could check that kind of thing. And I knew someone who could check someone's lifespan too.

I don't. It's in my drawer, and I can't access it in the pasture for some reason. I'm guessing whatever magic brought us here is interfering. Like how all of our powers are weaker here.

It's a magical item that I own. If I open up the "drawer" there's a little pocket dimension inside. And the pocket dimension has a house inside with a bunch of magic items. I can only take three items out, though, and only once my sync rate with the drawer is high enough...and I'm really bad at raising my sync rate. So I have to go inside to see any of the items.

[ his eyes go wide instinctively despite the blindness ]

You have a house inside a bag of holding? I'm not the only one who thought of doing that??

I don't know what a bag of holding is, but I think so. It was a reward for clearing a dungeon, so it's not like I'm the one who made it. I'm just the owner now.

As long as someone is touching me I can take them inside the drawer. But it'll have to wait until we're out of this place for me to show you.

When you've got your sight back I can show you roughly what it looks like inside. Or, ah, if you ever wander into one of my dreams you can ask. I should be able to recreate it pretty faithfully.

Sometimes, yeah. Has no one mentioned it yet? People frequently end up in other people's dreams.

How frequently?

It depends. I'm sorry, it's not consistent. Maybe every week or so? But if you're sleeping at a different time than everyone else it might happen less often.

[ sounds like he's never going to sleep again - ]

Right. Maybe I can avoid it then.

...You've already been here for a little while and it hasn't happened, right? That's a good sign. If you're really worried about it I can try to give you dreamless sleeps.

I can. It's one of my skills. It's not really practical to use it every night, but once in a while is fine. Especially if you're not getting good sleep.

How often is "once in a while"?

...It's a skill that doesn't have a cooldown, so I can use it as long as I've got mana.

Practically speaking, I don't know if it would be a good idea to use it every night. That's just because I won't be able to keep using it on everyone once we all go back to our own worlds. I don't want someone coming to rely on it too much. But if you need it, then I really don't mind using it every night.
