which is to say, we probably have assorted pillows and blankets piled into our new basement living room, with breakfast happening in the kitchen and jellyfish hangin' around elsewhere. and our assorted? fish related prizes??? ]

Sometimes, yeah. Has no one mentioned it yet? People frequently end up in other people's dreams.

[ a horrified head shake. ]

How frequently?

It depends. I'm sorry, it's not consistent. Maybe every week or so? But if you're sleeping at a different time than everyone else it might happen less often.

[ sounds like he's never going to sleep again - ]

Right. Maybe I can avoid it then.

...You've already been here for a little while and it hasn't happened, right? That's a good sign. If you're really worried about it I can try to give you dreamless sleeps.

I can. It's one of my skills. It's not really practical to use it every night, but once in a while is fine. Especially if you're not getting good sleep.

How often is "once in a while"?

...It's a skill that doesn't have a cooldown, so I can use it as long as I've got mana.

Practically speaking, I don't know if it would be a good idea to use it every night. That's just because I won't be able to keep using it on everyone once we all go back to our own worlds. I don't want someone coming to rely on it too much. But if you need it, then I really don't mind using it every night.

[ he's quiet a moment, thinking about that. He can sleep every other day, right? That should be doable. ]

What about alternating days?

Easy. Or, it's easy for me. The skill is more effective if you have a higher level of trust for me, so it might work better as the nights go on.

Right. Right ... I can try that.

Any time. We can't stop the weird rituals or the wolf attacks or anything, but at least inside of the barn we can make sure everyone's as comfortable as possible. If there's something you need, or something you want, just ask. We can figure out how to make it work. That's what we always do.

Hmmmm. Then, let me ask you a question. What counts as 'too much'?

It builds up over time. People say it's okay at first, but they secretly resent you, and think you're weird, and eventually they hate you.

[winces. Kevin just what kind of life have you lived]

That's not--that's not what people should do. Instead of letting resentment build up they should say if they have a problem. I'm not a perfect person, so I'm not saying there will never be a time when I'm upset, or mad, or cranky, or anything like that. But everyone here understands that talking things out is important. We'd say something before it got that bad.
