[the morning of day 22 begins with a light drizzle, as has been typical for the past few days. but despite the damp weather, a playlist of music also echoes across the pasture, luring you towards the center!]

[there, you will find that someone has planted a large bamboo tree, which is surrounded by wooden tables that are covered with colorful slips of paper and pens. a colorful sign, decorated with random doodles of stars, clouds, suns, and other fun shapes, contains a set of instructions:]

WELCOME TO TANABATA!

WRITE A WISH ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND TIE IT TO THE BAMBOO TREE.

HAVE FUN!

[the music and the bamboo wishing tree are a great start to the festival, but other people have been hard at work to make this a day to remember, right?]

[it's time to celebrate Tana-baa-ta!]

That's right~. In the grand Treno tradition, as passed down by our... wisest sages. _{[ and charlatans. ]} But for the cards to read your fate, you must do a little something for me.

Take three petals from the flower. First, hold them close. Tell them your hopes. Your dreams. Perhaps consider it as an aperitif, before you commit them to the bamboo tree.

_{[ he waves his hand in a little circle, and... from one of the stand's vines right beside Fantasia's head, a new rose blooms. ]}

[ he startles as the rose blooms beside him. he leans away from it, but plucks three petals from it, drawing them close and shutting his eyes. ] My hopes and dreams... [ it takes him a bit but eventually he thinks of something. ]

Alright. I'm ready. [ or so he thinks. he's never done something like this before and he's suddenly feeling nervous about it. ]

A common misconception. You're likely thinking of decks that include the major arcana, and whilst I am fond of the extended release, this is the way I first learned to do it. Suppose you could say I was feeling nostalgic.

Take a few petals from the rose. ...None too many, please, or we'll be here all day. _{[ he waves his hand, and a fresh one blooms, on a not-so-decorative vine beside Odin. ]} They will bear for you your fate. Hold onto them, just as long as you feel is right.

[Imagine if he grabbed the whole flower. In fact, he makes a gesture like he's going to grab the whole thing, but then he drops the facade and takes five. They are laying in the palm of his hand.]

So by 'hold' you mean like this, right?

It can be. You can play cards with any deck. And you can make any act, into play.

So mote it be. Alright! You'll want to get comfortable. Depending on how far you care to follow along with the cards' gaze... this may take some time. And one is more receptive, to the subtler senses, when they are as relaxed as is possible.
