[the morning of day 22 begins with a light drizzle, as has been typical for the past few days. but despite the damp weather, a playlist of music also echoes across the pasture, luring you towards the center!]

[there, you will find that someone has planted a large bamboo tree, which is surrounded by wooden tables that are covered with colorful slips of paper and pens. a colorful sign, decorated with random doodles of stars, clouds, suns, and other fun shapes, contains a set of instructions:]

WELCOME TO TANABATA!

WRITE A WISH ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND TIE IT TO THE BAMBOO TREE.

HAVE FUN!

[the music and the bamboo wishing tree are a great start to the festival, but other people have been hard at work to make this a day to remember, right?]

[as the sun sinks to the horizon and the day comes to an end, and well after the usual afternoon thunderstorm is over, there is a fireworks show! courtesy of Lupin of Thistle. thank Red for the goods!!]

LIGHT SHOW ACCOMPANIMENT

[ As the fireworks show starts, the citizens of Woolietown will find the lights do not disappear as they naturally should after every firework bloom. Instead, the dying sparks take renewed life briefly to bloom again into various shapes—the majority of them turn into a river of sparkles along the night sky, and they're accompanied by sheep of various colors—the flocks' colors—in a very simple visual retelling of Tanabata, with sheep Orihime and sheep Hikoboshi crossing the river to meet each other in snapshots of movements. And, rather than magpies making a bridge, it's the little sheep that collect together to make a bridge for the two lovers to meet.

If these effects are intended by the fireworks, they must be very sophisticated to do so. If not—those who can identify it as such will recognize this accompaniment as Tart's magic, but there is no indication that it's his doing otherwise. Mystery . . . ]

The boys are dressed NICE and they are SERVING. Also serving food and drinks. There's coffee, tea, lemonade. Biscuit has whipped up some lemon cookies, blueberry breakfast cake, and if you want something savory instead you can have some grilled fish, smoked meat, cornbread....really there's so many options just enjoy yourselves.

[ Eclair is not a cat but. He has rigged up some REALLY BASIC little paper cat ears by attaching them to his goggles. He's here to host anyone who wants CUTE and SOFT BOY vibes. Also dressed in party clothes borrowed from his teammates. ]

hisui has a small, hastily assembled stand with

- deviled scister eggs (made a deal with biscuit for mayo thx ari)
- gatordawg on a stick

you can catch her occasionally making Fruit Art as she's sitting at her stand. she will hide it poorly when bells come up to order, but if you peek over behind the counter, she has a bag with a literal sign saying BLACK MARKET GOODS on it.


it's all fruit, or really pretty fruit art made with various flock fruits! she'll make you a cute apple animal or something out of another flock's fruit, if you want to be COMPLICIT IN THEFT.

she will not make your fruit art out of YOUR flock fruit, insisting she has no idea what you're talking about. if you want that you gotta send someone else to get it. ]

on the middle tier of the cat tree. people don't know this unless they're Daffodil but this is unusual for him. usually he's on the top tier.

he is also unusually mellowed out. like he's always pretty mellow and looks like he's half a step away from dozing off but the other 50% usually looks grumpy and this time around he's like fully 75% dozed off and the 25% of wakefulness he has is to . . . to . . .

. . . to purr . . . if you concentrate enough . . . you can hear the deep baritone rumbling of a lion man . . .
