Tana-baa-ta
WHO: everyone!
WHERE: the pasture
WHEN: day 22, all day
[the morning of day 22 begins with a light drizzle, as has been typical for the past few days. but despite the damp weather, a playlist of music also echoes across the pasture, luring you towards the center!]
[there, you will find that someone has planted a large bamboo tree, which is surrounded by wooden tables that are covered with colorful slips of paper and pens. a colorful sign, decorated with random doodles of stars, clouds, suns, and other fun shapes, contains a set of instructions:]
WELCOME TO TANABATA!
WRITE A WISH ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND TIE IT TO THE BAMBOO TREE.
HAVE FUN!
[the music and the bamboo wishing tree are a great start to the festival, but other people have been hard at work to make this a day to remember, right?]
[it's time to celebrate Tana-baa-ta!]
((FEEL FREE TO MAKE YOUR OWN TOP LEVELS IN THIS POST AS WELL! I made a few to get things going, but you should all run wild and free and thread to your heart's content ♥))

This fellow is the Jack of Diamonds. I'm... rather surprised to see him. He's the herald of... a fundamentally dishonest man, with light hair. Hm.
[ angie gets a look on his face like he's trying to figure this one out and can't, quite. ]

Huh . . . Does that detail matter? Guess the second one's just a dud?

[ sits up in his seat a little straighter to peer past Minuet's shoulder. ]
No surprise Rubato in sight either secretly watching us........
...Fantasia doesn't seem to have much lying in him, either. Light hair... light hair...
[ he twirls a little lock of his own, then stops. ]

...Pardon me, perhaps I didn't properly cleanse the deck of my own influence beforehand. I did play a light round of solitaire while things were slow, before your arrival.
[ he reaches out, and picks up the Jack of Diamonds. and places it in front of himself. ]
Oops~.
Ready for the next card? ...How about you flip this one, just in case?
[ beneath, will be the Four of Hearts. ]

[ WHEW
He flips the next card ]

You know, this is the first hearts card I've drawn for someone's reading, today. A little sad, for our poor pasture's prospects in the matters of love. [ this thread was. before Bluebell's booth hit like a wrecking ball. ]
For a festival celebrating two riven lovers, I couldn't help but take it as... perhaps an ill omen... but here we are now! My fretting seems to have been for naught.
The Four means... change. In the heart. Motion, and synthesis, where once was a stand-still. A chance for evaluation, and... new understandings.
You chose to place the card quite close at hand, as well... so I will say it not unwise to keep an eye out, in your near future, for this card's tidings.
...How wonderful for you, Minuet! [ claps his hands together, once. ]

I don't think these cards actually work.

...the Three of Spades... named, as well, as the Three of Swords.
[ SORROW AND HEARTBREAK. ]

Based on that reaction . . . ]
Well, as I said . . . they're just cards!

[ a very soft smile, as he picks up the Jack in front of him, and twirls it to and fro between his fingers. its back to minuet, facing, then back again... ]
In the end... the cards we're dealt... are only ever what we choose to make of them.
[ the Jack's smile seems curiously close to Angel Devil's own, right before he puts it down, to gather all the dealt cards together to shuffle back into the deck. ]

. . . I'll keep them in mind.
