WHO: this new fucking weed and you
WHERE: the pasture
WHEN: Day 34 HIGH NOON
[ a young man in a black collar and a tattered outfit that looks like something out of a wuxia themed anime is standing in the middle of town and waving people down. he's unarmed, has tattoos of a silver metal that glows like moonlight across his arms and shoulders, and seems friendly! except, uh ]
Hello! Good afternoon! I've come here to prewarn you all that I intend on utterly destroying this community, down to the last child and the last stone of the last standing building, and leaving it a smoking husk incapable of sustaining any civilization, to protect you all from the inevitable march of progress into tyranny.
Only striking me down utterly and without mercy can save you all from this fate.
As a show of good sport, I will invite attempts on my life starting now.
[ for those of you who can sense power levels uhhhhh his power level is high though. ]

Huh.
It's too bad to hear that all societies are doomed to tyranny, but it makes sense that they would be. Behaviors like corruption and subjugation yield rewards in the form of getting ahead when otherwise you wouldn't. Both individuals and systems that are more ruthless will succeed or progress more easily than those that aren't.
So I guess it's as if the evolutionary pressures that shape a society invariably drive it to become more predatory, or die.
Am I understanding this correctly?

I wouldn't know how to compare. One person's hell might be another person's paradise.
[take Every Person's Opinion on The Pasture, for example. Is this a good place? a bad one? mystery.]

Even speaking as one who is unwillingly doomed to be euthanized, that's really fascinating. I've never heard of this kind of thing before.

[She may be the wretched refuse of her own tyrannical society's teeming shore, but at least she has a job she likes.]
I'm not a powerful person, myself, but there are a lot of powerful people here. If there is any possible way to break you from your own bonds, I'm sure you'll find someone here who'd fall over themselves to help you.

But enough about that, what kind of stuff do you do for fun?
