Alright. Is everybody ready? Let's get going. [ he summons mehrak to his side and makes a quick head count before leading bluebell into forest. he's got a sunflower on his claymore and he's helped mehrak put one on his chainsaw. he's quietly vibrating out of his skin, because there's a chance they made it back, but there's also a chance... they didn't... ]
...they live in a thicket, and last time I visited Jim was the only one there. John had gone out to try to find his wife and kids. I'm hoping they're back, but if they're not, then... we need to find them.
[ He is packed to the brim. He has food!! He has his bow and arrows! He has his scale on his person!! And of course he has his sunflower. Ain't nothing going to mess with him.
[ and a while later they arrive at the thicket. kaveh approaches to peer through, trying to see if john is still there. ] John? The eye's closed, so I'm back, and I have the entire flock with me.
[Jim isn't there but his son John is still there! But...not the way he remembers him. The area is still nicely lit thanks to his barrier of sunflowers, and mist is no longer creeping into the thicket. However. . .] You came back! I can feel father's presence fading. We need help! [instead of a strong young buck, John is now...very tiny. His hooves and antlers and eyes are still made of gems though.]
Wait no, matter at hand. Creeping out slowly and deliberately and not making prolonged eye contact so as to not appear as a predator!!!!!!! Nodding at Melody's question like yes what she said. ]
Tsukasa will kneel down, lifting a hand to his chest.]
Please... tell us how it is we might aid you. None of us could abide sitting aside when someone's family might be in trouble. And any friend of Fantasia-san and Rubato-senpai is a friend to the rest of us.
thankfully their skeletal structure is like diamonds so John is okay! His antler tho--it breaks off into six individual pieces. One for each of them]
With these you can temporarily sense Father's presence--and the ill manner of the mist will not affect you when you enter. I do not know how long it will last though, so if you feel the power fade, please flee. Whatever happens, we will accept it.
[ he holds his piece of the antler against his chest. ] Thank you, John. We're going to find your family. I promise. [ he's not leaving the mist until he does. ] I imagine you want to stay here, since going into the mist may... make matters worse?
We shall hold tight to them. Thank you for this great boon. And... please rest here safely until we can return your family to you. If something were to happen to you as well, I am sure your family would be as equally upset.
When you enter the mist this time. . .well, that oppressive sense of despair is still hanging in the air, and you might hear whispers asking if you're predator or prey, but they're very distant. As long as you keep your antler fragment on you, you can keep your senses in the mist. The air is still thick though, and the further you go, the harder it will be to find your way back (aside from the Shepherd's sense).
And since you aren't completely disoriented, you can also get a good look at what little there is in the mist. . .mostly barren land, dead trees, and even dead animal carcasses. What sparse green there is might be taken by an unlucky animal, like a small rabbit or normal deer, desperate for food, only for them to get swallowed up by a mist beast. Fun!!
Anyway, you can feel the tug of the Jim Deer's presence though. Better follow!]
[WELL ALRIGHT. With Tempo Poppins and Chicken Vash carrying everyone down, you descend! Just as a massive shadow wolf snaps its jaws right as you take off the cliff that Rubato attracted! Don't worry about it, it's stuck up there now. Probably.
Well no it definitely can't fly, but it is jumping down on to your chicken pile. Enjoy a giant wolf slamming into you!
ALSO enjoy as you descend, the mist seems to swirl around you. So while dealing with said shadow wolves, you hear panicked whispers--Where are we? I want to go home! Please please, I beg you! Stop! It wasn't always like this. . .!
Over and over again in your heads. But maybe you don't have time to deal with that on account of. Woof. It has no idea what's going on but it's snapping at SOMEONE dammit.
Try not to hit the ground hard, you WILL break a bone!]
