[ it's time for an adventure. ]

Alright. Is everybody ready? Let's get going. [ he summons mehrak to his side and makes a quick head count before leading bluebell into forest. he's got a sunflower on his claymore and he's helped mehrak put one on his chainsaw. he's quietly vibrating out of his skin, because there's a chance they made it back, but there's also a chance... they didn't... ]

...they live in a thicket, and last time I visited Jim was the only one there. John had gone out to try to find his wife and kids. I'm hoping they're back, but if they're not, then... we need to find them.

[ Checking his POUCH OF DEER OFFERINGS.

Yes ok he's got everything he needs for this adventure. ]

. . . Mute, Rubato -- would you be able to track them?

[ nods ]

If a trail exists . . . it will be found.

We need to check in with Jim first, but... here's to hoping the both of them are able despite the mist. [ he's counting on you guys! ]

[ he! is! hopeful! ]

[ melody has her grenade launcher this time, and axe!!! and also a basket of goodies for deer. she's also brought a few sunflowers for people 'w' ]

We should keep these with us....

Should I bring some snacks for us, as well?

[ in case they're out there for a while... ]

A few snacks for ourselves might be a good idea. [ and he's glad that she's also got some sunflowers. ]

I know Mute-kun prefers crunchy textures, but do the rest of you have a preference?

[ packing a little picnic basket or something for them. family trip! ]

Oh--! I forgot people snacks!

[ SHE REMEMBERS!! MUTE HAS BEEN FRIENDSHIPPED ONCE AGAIN!! (Mute is also bringing their nice wood ax. They can be Ax Buds.) ]

There's no time now, but we should make our own trail mix sometime.

So long as it is light to travel with and doesn't produce too much scent.

[They have plenty of jerky and dried fruit at this point so he'll be good with that]

What would you like for a snack? I would bring coffee, but I don't think we have a thermos....

Hee hee. Remind me to show you some experimental snacks I've been working on when we've returned...

Oh! That sounds very fun. I do have some berries I've dried out, though, would that be alright for you?

Of course. We must be practical, after all.

[ giggling a bit ]

Yep. That's fine with me. Rubato makes a good point about snacks that don't produce much of a scent, so the dried fruit is perfect.

[ Tipping his head at Rubato as he mentions No Smelly Stuff ]

Dried rations're fine by me. I've eaten way worse.

Well, the point of a snack is to be tasty and practical.... but I believe I've just the thing.

I have some jerk and boiled quail eggs as well.... the eggs are fresh, so there shouldn't be an odor to them.

Should I ask, or is it a surprise?

[ THUMBS UP. ]

I had Tempo scan the deer tracks the last time... [ he'll have the tool box come up beside mute and show off what the prints look like. ] When the fog had spread further into the pasture I noticed the tracks, so I followed them thinking that the encroaching danger affected them somehow.

We should be there soon. I'm excited to introduce all of you to all of them.
