[the morning of day 22 begins with a light drizzle, as has been typical for the past few days. but despite the damp weather, a playlist of music also echoes across the pasture, luring you towards the center!]

[there, you will find that someone has planted a large bamboo tree, which is surrounded by wooden tables that are covered with colorful slips of paper and pens. a colorful sign, decorated with random doodles of stars, clouds, suns, and other fun shapes, contains a set of instructions:]

[the music and the bamboo wishing tree are a great start to the festival, but other people have been hard at work to make this a day to remember, right?]

there is maybe a beat of stillness where it really seems like Wolfwood is maybe considering biting right now but then he just makes a noise of clear upset and anger and maybe it even sounds a little wounded--THIS WASN'T HOW THINGS WERE SUPPOSED TO GO?!--but shut the fuck up about that because he's kissing back and the hand without the gun is grabbing hold of Vash's collar, white knuckled.]

[ This is the angriest, most demanding kiss ever.

It probably doesn't help when a feathery tendril wraps around Wolfwood's wrist and he gets a dream blasted directly into his head.

Much better than mouthwords, especially when mouths are VERY FUCKING BUSY. ]

Doesn't matter right at this moment, though, because throwing your gun on the floor is one of the greatest possible compliments in No Man's Land language, and the desperate desire for this to not turn to fucking sand beneath his fingers is mutual. He shifts his hands to hold Wolfwood's face, exactly how he had in the dream. ]

and the hands on his face, just like in the dream, actually makes him want to cry about it a little. mostly just out of sheer frustration because the dream had been nice, he wanted that--but also it was missing things, and he'd spent most of the day thinking it was just him and now it makes sense but it's exactly why he wasn't going to say anything--!

still doesn't stop him from shoving Vash toward a wall, not breaking the kiss, because fuck it fuck him he's not going to half-ass this.]

[ Maybe,,,,, he should have checked to make sure Blood Fiend wasn't home FIRST. But it's probably fine. He's surely hightailed it outta here by now.

Vash doesn't fight the shove, in that way where he's really good at letting himself be man-handled, distantly registering that he doesn't mind and may actually be into that shit a little.
