[the morning of day 22 begins with a light drizzle, as has been typical for the past few days. but despite the damp weather, a playlist of music also echoes across the pasture, luring you towards the center!]

[there, you will find that someone has planted a large bamboo tree, which is surrounded by wooden tables that are covered with colorful slips of paper and pens. a colorful sign, decorated with random doodles of stars, clouds, suns, and other fun shapes, contains a set of instructions:]

WELCOME TO TANABATA!

WRITE A WISH ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND TIE IT TO THE BAMBOO TREE.

HAVE FUN!

[the music and the bamboo wishing tree are a great start to the festival, but other people have been hard at work to make this a day to remember, right?]

Is acting not something idols usually do?

[Perhaps he had been comparing the term too much to what Vil is, when Vil is more of an actor and model.]

There are some who do, I think. But an idol's primary job is related to their skills as a singer and dancer-- holding concerts and performing live. That sort of thing. But as individuals within the entertainment industry, some also branch out into acting or modeling and make other appearances. So acting is not necessarily something all idols do, but some might juggle both.

I'm quite a fan of music myself. Azul and I... well, I assume Azul, my brother and I... were in a band together in middle school. Yes, he mentioned we were.

[He shakes his head, smiling.]

I don't know if I would be brave enough to stand on stage as a lead singer.

Really? Perhaps you would be willing to join Aides-san and myself. We are hoping to engage in idol activities as a way to destress here.

[ One of these people is only stressing, Crescendo. ]

What instrument did you play?

Oh, if Aides is going to be involved then I'm sure it would be enjoyable.

I played the bass while I was in the band, though I'm not limited to it.

That is rather exciting. If you ever feel the desire to play, I hope you will consider doing so here. Those who can play instruments would be welcome.

You could also ask my brother. Though... whether or not he ends up playing on any given day would depend on his mood.

For some strange reason that gives me an incredibly daunting yet familiar feeling. That would be quite inconvenient if he decided not to show up to a performance.

Oh he could almost surely be convinced to come to the performance. It's getting him to come to practice that would be tough.

He's something of a musical genius, however, so he would do his own part on stage just fine.

Geniuses are exhausting. And frustrating on a personal level. All of that talent while the rest of us must put in endless hard work. How truly blessed he is.

[ He nods though, after a moment. ]

Perhaps we could ask him his thoughts? I would think he would enjoy playing with his brother.

You'd have to catch him in the right mood, but we could certainly try.

Do my chances increase if you are there with me?

Not at all.

[His smile becomes slightly more strained.]

So your own memories have been tampered with, perhaps, too. How truly frustrating. It is vexing not to know someone or a particular story when it seems commonplace to another.

Yes... It hasn't been nearly as tampered with as yours, however. I'm working on reclaiming the lost pieces.

Well, if you should ever desire someone to watch with you, I am around. I have witnessed a few that were difficult to swallow for others.

I... will consider that. But I often feel awkward enough with my flock around.
