Tana-baa-ta

WHO: everyone!
WHERE: the pasture
WHEN: day 22, all day

[the morning of day 22 begins with a light drizzle, as has been typical for the past few days. but despite the damp weather, a playlist of music also echoes across the pasture, luring you towards the center!]

[there, you will find that someone has planted a large bamboo tree, which is surrounded by wooden tables that are covered with colorful slips of paper and pens. a colorful sign, decorated with random doodles of stars, clouds, suns, and other fun shapes, contains a set of instructions:]

WELCOME TO TANABATA!

WRITE A WISH ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND TIE IT TO THE BAMBOO TREE.

HAVE FUN!

[the music and the bamboo wishing tree are a great start to the festival, but other people have been hard at work to make this a day to remember, right?]

[it's time to celebrate Tana-baa-ta!]

((FEEL FREE TO MAKE YOUR OWN TOP LEVELS IN THIS POST AS WELL! I made a few to get things going, but you should all run wild and free and thread to your heart's content ♥))

[Not knowing any of the symbolism, his first thought when he reveals the stone is that it looks a lot like Aiba. But it's getting to the point where everything is reminding him of Aiba, so he doesn't feel like an objective source anymore.]

Whoa...

I don't even know what kind of rock this is.

Hm~... that's a structure you don't see too often. It's a fadenquarz.

A quartz, by itself, is a more... straightforward sort of stone than most. It is impurities within a quartz that give us many other commonly recognized gems... amethyst, for one. Citrine, for another. The humble quartz can thus be considered, perhaps, the 'everyman' of the mineral world...

But this is hardly a common quartz. You see, clearly, of course, the 'thread' within the stone -- the 'faden,' that lends it its name. It is, in essence, a scar-- but not one that could be said to stunt the stone. It is, in fact, a mark of the stone's remarkable resilience. Pressure is applied so great it shall rupture and fissure... and yet, clearly, it has continued to grow, such that its trials, in time, shall merely become... an interesting facet, of itself.

...and that! Is the kind of rock it is.

Hmph.

[...He doesn't really know how to feel about that. He doesn't do enough self-reflection to be able to relate himself to it. But he feels flattered as he hears the description, anyway. It feels comfortable.

What he actually says, instead, is:]

Wow, so it's saying I'm actually purer than the other people with different gemstones? I'm gonna remember that one.

Simplicity is a good word for the quality, too, you know.

What's that? That sounds prejudiced against people who don't have magic to me. I'm reporting you to HR. I'm going to make one of our sheep HR, and then I'm going to report you.
