[the morning of day 22 begins with a light drizzle, as has been typical for the past few days. but despite the damp weather, a playlist of music also echoes across the pasture, luring you towards the center!]

[there, you will find that someone has planted a large bamboo tree, which is surrounded by wooden tables that are covered with colorful slips of paper and pens. a colorful sign, decorated with random doodles of stars, clouds, suns, and other fun shapes, contains a set of instructions:]

WELCOME TO TANABATA!

WRITE A WISH ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND TIE IT TO THE BAMBOO TREE.

HAVE FUN!

[the music and the bamboo wishing tree are a great start to the festival, but other people have been hard at work to make this a day to remember, right?]

[it's time to celebrate Tana-baa-ta!]

But listen, he spent far too long in the shooting gallery this one is inspired by not to get an almost perfect record]

[HONESTY, Tyr is pretty impressive, and even though Lupin was smack-talking, he is pretty impressed by ho well he's doing! and Lupin gives Tyr a very impressed whistle once the timer goes off]

[he grins, reloading the rubber bullets before holding it out to Lupin]

[taking it, holding it like a man who knows his way around a firearm, and stepping up to the booth]

Hit the timer for me when you're ready.

[hmm. He nods and, once Lupin looks like he's set, hits the timer]

[BAM BAM BAM]

[he's a pretty damn good shot! he hits most of the proper targets and avoids the sailors for a near perfect score himself. but. . .]

[for as good as Lupin is, he can't out-shoot someone who has undoubtedly handled guns for far longer than he has. CONGRATS TYR, THIS IS YOUR WIN]

[AS MUCH AS HE LIKES TO GIVE LUPIN SHIT . . . he just grins, turning off the timer]

Impressive, I thought you had me beat for a second there.

[despite having lost in the wake of a ton of shit talk, Lupin doesn't seem too put out. he does let out a tiny huff, his smile turning lopsided and properly contrite]

. . . and for a second there, I thought I had it.

Maybe I should've practiced more.
