[there, you will find that someone has planted a large bamboo tree, which is surrounded by wooden tables that are covered with colorful slips of paper and pens. a colorful sign, decorated with random doodles of stars, clouds, suns, and other fun shapes, contains a set of instructions:]

WELCOME TO TANABATA!

WRITE A WISH ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND TIE IT TO THE BAMBOO TREE.

[the music and the bamboo wishing tree are a great start to the festival, but other people have been hard at work to make this a day to remember, right?]

Yeh festivals are good times t'work!

Seasonal part-time work!

Mmm! I do loads of seasonal work!

We get a lot of um, migration time work in Southport. Not our migrations! But is like a whole extra holiday season when other species arrive.

Sounds fun and busy...

Mostly busy! But can be fun too. The regulars bring souvenirs sometimes.

What ya sell?

Have lots of gryphons in lots of different jobs, but I work on the side that's spas and um, salons. Some do hair, but mostly is for other forms! Like preening, grooming, farriers, like that.

Do ya know how to take care of all these sheeps' hooves then...?

Yes, actually!

Whoa nice....they could use ya then.

Have been checking our sheep's feet! They're good. But could look at other sheep too. Ground is soft here, so hooves won't get worn down as fast as they should.

Do we need a better area for 'em....?

Um, taking them on walks could be good for them so get more wear on dirt and rocks. And will have to watch them more if rains go on longer, can't stay in mud... But is not bad as is, are still walking outside a lot. Sheep who work indoors get it worse.

Whyzat?

Sheep hooves are for climbing and hiking. Can't hike on hay.

Ooohhhhhhhh......

The other end is where um, you get horse-types that needs horseshoes because they walk too hard. Is a lot to manage.

Ya got loads more farm experience...

Have never worked on a farm though. Only know the farm animals.
