Fufu, well if you like duck more, one could certainly make a special effort to catch one. But it's true that not being too particular about one's food will help in a situation like this.
--But I hear something else. [Holding an arm out in front of her though, gesturing for her to back up.]

But then, it's spotted. ]
—Oh. I didn't even see it...

How magnifique! I've never seen an alligator with ears like that. We'll want to be careful in the future, it was considering making a meal of us, fufu.
no subject
Nah. I'd punch it out before it did that.

However, there some more territorial rumblings. Especially near the muddier shores--Back off, this is our turf. What are they? Should we eat them?
Probably nothing to worry about.]

Should he examine near the edge of a muddy shore he'll see....some ears poking out of the mud. But also a scaley snout and reptilian eye. It appears they're half submerged in the water and mud.]
no subject
You'll regret trying to take a bite, friend.
[Sorry to the child behind him who is hearing Rook make some sort of awful reptilian gator hissing at the mud.]

the creatures make some surprised rumblings--how the FUCK does this skinny sheep thing know how to talk to us--but they do seem to slink back, uncertain about attacking.
We wait...catch by surprise...too dangerous...]

Some more muddy grumblings before another pair of ears appear--and then they keep rising. Three in total, as the at water and mud cascade off them. They're gators--sort of. They're scaley and reptilian, but with pointed years, and a body shape that more so resembles that of a doberman. Long legs with massive webbed claws, but no tails.
Their scales raise on their backs, as they growl back at Rook. A Warning.]

Fufu, you'll have to excuse my impoliteness, I was rather hasty... But--
We are dangerous! This is ours--seek other territory!
[At least he has his magipen already. Casting two lightning spells in quick succession--still just warning shots--loud--hopefully shocking to those directional ears they have, since they might not stay confused by him speaking their language.]
no subject
Holy shit can this thing control lightning?!
They yelp/bellow, quickly burrowing back into the mud for safety, shooting glares at Rook as they go. Danger...don't like...we need to eat him...next time...just like Them...
They make a show of some AGGRESSIVE BUBBLING before sinking completely under the water.]
