It took a hostage from every flock and trapped them in something, and we could only free them with these... orbs, I guess. All of them but two did something terrible to them, so we had to choose who was getting what at random.

Ooor that would've been the case, but Zenith found out we could use our rewind ability during the ritual, so we managed to mitigate the worst of the damage.
