Why would it? If people understand each other, then you don't gotta explain stuff. They just get it.

Like how you understood why I did what I did. I didn't have to explain that I kill people to give justice to the people murdered by the mafia. You just understood. Usually people either tell me not to kill at all, or they try pointing me at whatever targets they have.

Ah. Yes, that's how people are. I've always made sure people didn't understand me.

...again, I have to ask 'why'. Why is it inevitable?

I've been alone a long time. Unwanted by adults, an outsider to my peers...

[pauses because it's actually fairly difficult to go off on your sad orphan backstory when talking to someone with an arguably sadder orphan backstory]

I worked very hard to integrate myself with other people, but I knew it was only superficial. Would only ever be superficial. For someone like me, that would have to be good enough.

Well, I know that feeling pretty well, so at the very least there's that.

[This is Loki's sad orphan backstory, he won't jump in with his own uninvited. But they are a lot alike!]

Besides, there's like 7 billion people on the planet, yeah? Even if 'someone who cares about me and accepts me' is a one-in-a-million kinda thing, that's still 7,000 people. If you live in a big city then there's probably at least 4 or 5 of them without going too far away.

It's a bit late for that now, in more than a few ways.

For example, the only reason why that one sticks around—

—is because he doesn't have the sense to take my repeated attempts on his life personally.

Well, now you're going to have to deal with two people stickin' around. Though don't try the attempts on my life, I'll knock you flat on your ass for that.

I'm not completely sure, all the 'friends' I've ever had were just using me for my ability.
