[WOW WHAT FUN LAST FEW DAYS FULL OF FEELINGS lets just forget about that for now!!

The weather is mild and pleasant, and the flowers are blooming especially vividly now. It's like it's spring or some shit.

Also, the lightning that was striking near the mist has subsided! Still be careful though--the eye is still close, but the antlers are still glowing Red for danger. Man wonder what could have set that off. Mystery.

Well anyway Red's back in his shop, along with Daisy and Coco, and Naythan's stumbling around with his Peony Suit. You might find Stormy around if you look for him, but Blossom is notably Still Absent.

BUT HEY NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THAT. There are some new additions!

-A new building appears near the lighthouse! Golly!

-There's a rumbling near Lily, and suddenly a small man-made 'lake' appears in their meadow?? Gosh Lily why do you get TWO ponds! Well, this one is full of salt water, so that's a thing. Maybe there's an underground stream?? Don't worry about it. They'll also find that they now have a dark, spooky, basement--well, part of it is, but mostly it looks like a bachelor pad. But hey, no windows! That's what's important.

Neato! How are the rest of you doing?? Look out for potential falling newbies, you know how it goes.]

[Well, he can't argue that. There is always someone kicking up a fuss (never him though, surely).]

It is dangerous to come out into the forest alone. You should be careful.

I'm not too worried. But what about you? There are many a terrible thing lurking in the depths of this forest. Won't your flockmates be worried you're out here all alone, or have you not told them?

It is not as though I require permission. They certainly do not tell me when they go gallivanting off.

. . . And anyway, I am not afraid of the forest. I can handle myself just fine, as you can see.

No, perhaps not, but I do remember you eluding to their helicopter parenting methods... so to speak, of course.

I see. [ adjusts his monocle. ] Have you gained some strength and some power since we last spoke?

[ . . . . ]

No. But... I do not need any for hunting. It is not as though I am wandering into the mist.

. . . And something tells me you are the more dangerous thing out here at the moment.

…ouch. [ he brings a hand to his chest. ] You wound me. And, here, I thought I could offer you some help.

Hunting on your own is certainly a way to start earning the respect of the pasture, but I hardly think they’ll change their tune anytime soon. [ because, let’s be real, it’s not that impressive. ]

[ . . . He frowns, studying him for a moment unhappily. He hates that what he is saying is probably true. It stings, especially today when he is still feeling down over his recent memory. Maybe he would get a pat on the head. Or someone would lecture him for doing something 'dangerous' after they have done things far more dangerous or risky than simple hunting.

He realizes he glanced away and then looks back up at him dubiously.]

I cannot understand. Why would you want to offer me help?

[ he flicks his hand to summon a chair, one he promptly hops into, so he can cross one leg over the other, ] Why not? You seem miserable, or am I reading the pity party wrong… [ his smile sharpens. ] I do think your smile is more infectious, Crescendo, and surely people want to see more of that, so why. not.

[ G-Grating. Moreso because he is right and he hates that too.]

I do not trust you.

[ . . . His gaze drops and he seems to slump a little.]

I do not trust anyone. I thought that I could, but... it turns out that I was wrong.

[And as a result, he hurt the thing that he loves most of all. Of course he feels miserable. How pitiful. He's so embarrassing compared to his seniors, who can stand proud and tall no matter the occasion. Meanwhile, he spent the entire last day crying alone in his room.

He glances back up to the other man.]

But at least I know that you have ulterior motives. Even if I cannot possibly figure them out right now.

[Maybe, on some level, he doesn't even care. Realistically, he knows that to be wrong. But when he cannot even trust the people closest to him-- when he fails to look after what he cherishes most of all, it makes him wish his heart would just stop.

Despite all of that, he still wants something to hold onto.]

What exactly... are you trying to offer me? And for what?

[ heh. ] It's a good thing that I'm not expecting an overabundance of trust then... don't you think~ But that, [ tsks. ] that is sad. If you can't rely on your friends and family... then who? [ me! ]

Of course. [ he laughs. ] I don't do favors for free. We make an exchange. A deal. It's only fair...

And you want to be on par with your peers, don't you, ...to have powers and to be strong and to be useful? I can help. I can give you powers.

. . . If I had powers, I would not always have to rely on my friends. I could confidently fight alongside them. No one would be able to claim that I would slow them down, or would distract them from battle.

[ he disappears into a shadow and then reappears from crescendo's own, setting his hands on his shoulder as he leans in. ] Perhaps you'd even save the day entirely! And how's this for a cherry - I'll even give you a lesson or two on how to wield them.

[He startles when he appears behind him. He certainly wouldn't say no to training. He tips his head back to hear up at him, before turning back around to properly face him.]

What are you wanting in turn...? I do not possess much.

[Um... just because this seems to be something that could happen here-]

I am not really willing to give up my voice or anything, for instance.

[ No stuffing it inside seashells. He can't even get true love's kiss. That's hopeless. ]

I helped assist a Holy Spirit here, once. Lady Death. In exchange, she gave me a boon. Even if someone has suffered true death-- a seemingly permanent death, at least once, I have the ability to reverse their death with a kiss.

Now that is something with a lot of... weight. Would you be willing to give that up, if you can, along with helping me with some things from time to time? And, in exchange, a power of your choosing. Sky's the limit, Crescendo.

I have no issue lending a hand, I like to be useful. So long as it does not involve harming anyone innocent... then...

[He nods.]

Then, I agree. I am willing to make a trade with you.

But we won't know if the people or creatures we deal with are guilty or innocent, so that's a bit of a moot point. I'm not going to ask you to kill your friends, if you're concerned about that, but the things here aren't so... black & white, Crescendo.

[ he holds out his hand as swirls of green magic surround him. all sorts of voodoo symbols appear, framing him, and his appearance distorts a little... his smile broadening and stitching appearing along it as if his face might split without it. ]

In exchange for your help and your kiss from Death, herself, I'll give you power. [ if he shakes his hand, then he'll instinctively know he can't use his powers on alastor at all. ]

[ . . . . . . . ]

You . . . You really ought to work on making that seem less sinister.

[He hesitates a little. But nothing in that deal seems as though it could backfire on him. Surely... he has been careful to make sure? After a moment he reaches out and takes his hand.]

...No! But beside that we're forging a contract together! and they're incredibly important. [ as soon as he shakes alastor's hand he'll get his sonokinesis powers! enjoy your sound manipulation, crescendo. ] Now. [ he takes his hand back. ] It's going to take a bit of time to get used to this, so unless you accidentally want to kill somebody let's practice.
