WHO: you
WHERE: wherever
WHEN: afternoon into evening 61
[the spring thaw continues! how's that scent of fresh wet grass and the sounds of critters popping back up, huh?
towards evening, there's another strange smell on the breeze (ozone? oleander?) and a soft flurry of tiny dark feathers blown into the pasture and meadow.
if they happen to land on you, you may have a weird moment where you experience the perspective of some other, non-sentient creature in the area -- a squirrel scratching about in a nearby tree, for example, or a frog swimming in one of the team ponds, or one of the local songbirds stretching its wings and digging for worms.
it's harmless, and might be interesting, but it's also briefly disorienting. try not to fall on your face or into the lazy river.]

No, but my legs are long. I can cover a lot of ground.

Aha, but if you're willing to offer help I can chase after them in that case!

...also, maybe related, but if you haven't touched any of them, how's your reaction time?

...I mean, obviously do it if suddenly the pasture catches fire. I haven't seen it happen but I already heard it was a threat the last time there were weird mushrooms.

[Holds out his hands to receive bun]
What were the weird mushrooms though?
no subject
They were growing all over the place just before a bunch of people got kidnapped. Apparently they could put you in a catatonic state but some idiots here still ate them. I'm not a fan of experiments that immediately knock out the participants, at least not without some second or third trials...
no subject
What was the point in knocking them out?

I heard if they weren't revived, they'd be dead for sure. Anything that kept those in the pasture on defense and unprepared for a Wolf attack sounds like a good reason if you wanted to successfully abduct a few of the flocks.

[Scratches behind the ears gently]

[ is the expression due to the stupidity of "me want bite" flocks or being pet like a therapy animal? probably 90% column A and 10% column B ]

[ looking over at something then pawing to the left in a "hey, what about there" gesture ]
I saw something flutter in that direction.

Seems strange for them to be picky about food in a place like this.

But I guess some people prefer to eat almost death consuming mushrooms instead.

There! There's a feather...

Most of the people here don't seem like the type to pay attention to their health.

Huh, same result!
Eh, and I suppose that's a good psychological defense when rituals have a habit of causing grievous bodily harm.

Let's find another one, two isn't a big enough sample size.
