[anyone who tried to visit lily night 54 or through day 55 might have noticed there was not really much response and most of the team seemed to be away from home! whoopsie

on day 56 people start coming back or otherwise rousing from their post-kidnapping/trauma/werewolfing fugue states though. what up]

Hmm. How should I put this. It's going fine, but...we've identified the problem without coming to a complete solution, I think.

I feel like that's gonna be the hardest part. Even agreeing that we want to change, it's not like we actually like any of the other options any better.

That's why I've always been fine with what we were doing. Physical wounds--it's not that they don't leave a mark, but they heal. Mental and emotional wounds can be harder to overcome.

—No. I don't wanna make friends with the guy who took out our team in the easiest ritual to just...not have to. He didn't have to do anything to us, but I died because he was feeling petty and stupid. You died because he was petty and stupid!

You don't have to be friends with him if you don't want to. Friendship isn't something you automatically give people; it's a mutual relationship you have to work up to, right? If you're not interested then that's that.

But, for the record, it is possible to be friends with petty and stupid people who have killed you before.

Normally I'd agree with you. It should be as easy as that's that, but I already know he's the kinda guy who'll turn a small frustration into a murder spree.

And don't base your response on how you think he'll react. If it's insincere then it's not really being friends, is it? Better to be honest with him from the start.

I don't know if I would recommend it for this circumstance, specifically. But if someone wants to kill you they usually have a reason for it, right? So you understand why. Even if the reason is stupid and petty, maybe the circumstances around it weren't. And even if they were, think about if you'd do the same thing if you were in their shoes. Just...empathize?

Usually they also have enough positive qualities that you could see yourself being friends with them if they hadn't tried to kill you, too. If they don't have any of those traits then you don't have a strong base to work with.

Usually, huh... I think you're right that it isn't quite right for Leviathan though. I guess he's got positive qualities, 'cause he seems to get along fine with Crescendo. But the reasoning he gave me for why he targeted us wasn't anything I could relate to. I've already spent a long time thinking about it.

Well, that's something else to consider. Was he lying about the reason he gave you?

I don't know if that's the case with him. Maybe he was telling the truth about his reasons, and they were stupid from top to bottom. But...if he wants to be friends with you, it's at least an opportunity to ask if he was telling you the whole truth. And if he was, why he's decided he wants to be friends with you now.

There's no way I'm gonna trust whatever that guy says about it. Maybe I'll ask Aides what he thinks first.

They are classmates. Aides might know what to expect from him purely from experience.

From what Pegasus has said it sounds like Aides spends most of his time in his room when he can help it. But the stuff he has mentioned makes me think...the kids at his school are a little...
