Ritual 19 - Vengeance

WHEN: Evening, Day 54 (to give some buffer to post-rescue talks during the day)

[Well THAT was a trip. But everyone is returned home relatively safely, the mushrooms are under control, and Death's eye is closed. Maybe things can return to semi-normalcy.

Lol. Lmao.

A dark shadow suddenly sweeps across the Pasture, and you'll find yourself forcibly yanked from where you stand, lay in bed, or otherwise where you're minding your business--though, some will be missed, inevitably. Those who get grabbed though get to glimpse at a massive shadow-like demon, wolf like in appearance but with giant ram horns, glaring down at you. His voice speaks as a whisper in your minds.

You will Speak his Vengeance.

If you do not speak it, I will enact it on his Behalf.

A random sheep waddles by, and then shadows overtake it--the poor sheep begins to contort, gasping for air as it's stretched and twisted into an unnatural eldritch mass, but still Very Much Alive. It rolls off to enjoy its eternal suffering.

And just like that you're yanked into the shadows, the demon's Intent clear in your heads. It's Ritual Time.]

[ x doubt Minuet is a liar. just accepts the answer for now though. ]

There was a ritual. We suspect one of the Wolf King's kids caused it.

Three questions were asked:

"Which Flock deserves his Vengeance?"

"What sheep deserves his Vengeance?"

"What flock deserves YOUR Vengeance?"

... I don't know what questions the other flocks got asked, but I have a feeling we all went through the same thing.

What has you thinking it was the Wolf King's kid?

He kidnapped and tortured members of Clover and Rose. I missed the event myself -- the sheep got to me -- but the others managed to retrieve them.

He blew them back to the pasture before they could kill him, though. Didn't seem happy about it.

Yeah. I only know Sonata's side of it. Melody, Lethe, Leviathan, Aides, Biscuit and Yata were also taken.

Rose and Clover's targets were held hostage together, by a wolf that claimed to be the Wolf King's child. I don't know what happened with the other flocks' hostages. They were being kept somewhere else.

They really took someone from every single flock . . .

Yeah. And did a tacky job of the interrogations themselves, by the sounds of it.

I gotta ask what they even wanted to know . . . later.

I heard the pasture held a big meeting to coordinate information while we were gone. I'd say to expect another soon, but...

[ gestures at the entire ritual aftermath lol ]

'Later' seems accurate.

If any of these people try to hold a meeting in the next 48 hours I'm kicking their ass.

[ his skin had started to boil and peel after the last ritual round but that was sooooo ten minutes ago. the damage isn't quite faded, but he is quite visibly more okay than 90% of the pasture ]
