THE BABY PARTY

WHEN: Day 33, around lunchtime

[ Since it is a Daffodil rite, the Daffodils (at least, the ones that are not children who have no idea what they're doing and therefore aren't Tart, the best baby shepherd ever) have set up a little party in the rec room for all the kids and their poor beleaguered adults!

They've set up snacks and pulled out a few games as well as some pillows from the library for naptime and books — including picture books — nearby before putting the word out to others to stop by the rec room around lunchtime. And hey, if they have anything they can bring along, all the better! ]

Sure. If we run out we'll just get some more.

[ lets him do that, easy body language ]

If ya need more meat, I'll go hunting.

. . . Sure, if there's work t'give ya, I'll give it. But yain't gettin' wages or regular hours or nothin'.

[ reaches up to pat biscuit's head while he yawns ]

'S just helpin' out when things need doin'. Otherwise your time's all yours.

. . . Right now, Daffodil's big priority is makin' sure all these kids stay safe. So 'f ya wanna do some work, watch over the kids 'n make sure they don't get into any trouble.

[ cute. continues to groom him idly, less cleaning and more just repetitive comforting motions, like one would rub a baby's back until the baby falls asleep ]
