THE BABY PARTY

WHERE: The Rec Room
WHEN: Day 33, around lunchtime

[ Since it is a Daffodil rite, the Daffodils (at least, the ones that are not children who have no idea what they're doing and therefore aren't Tart, the best baby shepherd ever) have set up a little party in the rec room for all the kids and their poor beleaguered adults!

They've set up snacks and pulled out a few games as well as some pillows from the library for naptime and books — including picture books — nearby before putting the word out to others to stop by the rec room around lunchtime. And hey, if they have anything they can bring along, all the better! ]

[ he clasps his hands over his mouth to gasp a second time, because, holy moly, he’s only ever heard his parents talking about the things vision wielders can do. ]

[ pauses ]

Woah. [ sets a block down in front of him. ] Can you show me?

[ sets the book to the side and brings his hands to hover over the block ]

I am hunger. I am thirst. I am that which steals your tomorrows.

[ a golden light starts manifesting in his hands, swirling—the whole area feels a lot more dry, suddenly ]

Kneel before me: King's Roar!

[ the golden light encases the block and it crumbles, color draining as it becomes a fine powder ]

[ he rakes his fingers through the sand and then immediately turns to tart. ] That was the coolest thing I have ever seen!

[midustouch]

[ held his breath for a moment but he flexes his fingers and closes his hands and the golden light disappears ]

—I'm really strong!

[ puff puff pride ]

I... I'm not *that* strong... but! but I can build things. Or that's what I'm going to do someday. Like my mom. [ puffs his own kind of pride. ] Maybe I can build something for you! Wait wait. I GOT IT.

[ he scurries off to collect some of the blocks scattered around, so he can built tart a "cool" ( little kid cool is subjective ) castle around his nesting area. ] Ta-da~~~!

—you're an engineer!? Wow, that's cool!!

[ HE HAS A CASTLE NOW ]

I... almost am! Almost. [ he sounds proud. ] My mom is an architect and I want to create beautiful things like she does.

It's got holes so I can see who's coming! It's good!

Does your mom design aqueducts?

I bet she does! She can built anything! She's the best!!

[ he claps his hands. ] I'm glad you like it. One day, I'm going to be as great as her!

You should find out! 'Cause I need aqueduct designers when I get older! I wanna make a biiiiiig water supply system for the whole country!!

I... I'm not sure where she is. [ he frowns, his excitement withering for a moment, but then he swiftly bounces back, trying to cover up his concern. ] But if I can find her, then... okay! I can even help her.
