[ Since it is a Daffodil rite, the Daffodils (at least, the ones that are not children who have no idea what they're doing and therefore aren't Tart, the best baby shepherd ever) have set up a little party in the rec room for all the kids and their poor beleaguered adults!

They've set up snacks and pulled out a few games as well as some pillows from the library for naptime and books — including picture books — nearby before putting the word out to others to stop by the rec room around lunchtime. And hey, if they have anything they can bring along, all the better! ]

Charon disappears. The exact same day, the mist is pushed back, revealing a sizeable area.

It cannot be a coincidence. The theory is that the demon survived and took Charon, and we got the beach in "return."

Got more space 'cause he's a Shepherd, huh?

Correct.

So. Minuet and Lily are looking into how to rescue him — or at least, they will be once this ritual is over. I know he's anxious and so is the rest of Lily, but hopefully they take the time to really think it over.

In the meantime, I'm working on coordinating people to gather resources from the beach. We figure that it's a safe assumption that once Charon is rescued, we'll lose access to it.

Salt — from the salt water in the sea, my assistant is currently working on bring buckets back, actually. Seaweed is also quite nutritious and keeps well. Fish, of course. And we're investigating to see if there's anything else.

The salt is my highest priority.

Bring the buckets t'me and I'll make it happen. Faster the process is, the more salt ya can get, yeah?

[ He immediately brightens at that. ]

Yes, of course! We've been staging them over in the basement. And the more salt we get, the more we can preserve, too.

Mmh. Anything else I need'a know?

That's it for now. When they rescue Charon, my assistant and I will have some medicine made for him. We're going to collaborate later.

Mostly to help him sleep.

It could be, depending on how horrifying his experience is. Minuet requested it.

It's highly likely that if he is encased in gold, he is conscious.

It's gonna be messy, so yanno. The last one melted when he came back t'life.

I know. But— he is my friend. And I need to be there for him when they bring him back.

Didn't say ya shouldn't be there. Just that ya might wanna pack some clean clothes 'n shit for him.

That is a good idea. I will make sure they are aware of it.

Mmmh. Try t'save some'a the gold, too. Given it's that demon's associated element, might be able t'do something with it.

Ha. That may be less possible, depending on Lily's mood. I'll ask Minuet, see if we can arrange it, because I have a feeling Charon would think the same thing as you.

I'm not expectin' anything—it'll be good enough if he's back at all.
