Sorry if this question sounds abrupt, but you guys have special abilities too, right? For healing and stuff?

I've only met other Bluebells in passing so I haven't had a chance to ask. But I think everyone's powers are really neat.

Oh. We do, but-- they are a little embarrassing.

We have to kiss someone in order to heal them.

..."Kissing" as in the human courtship display?

That is a strange way of saying it, but yes. Apparently, our flock is based on love.

So like... do you have to "love" someone in order to kiss them? Does the healing kissing that you do often provoke, uh, the desired response?

How does it work?

Oh-- no, I do not believe so. I have kissed others in an effort to heal their injuries, and there was no love involved. I simply did it as a means of helping rescue them from their injuries.

[ Aughh.... his head hangs to the side as he makes an unsettled noise.]

Generally, I believe this sort of thing should be reserved for love, outside of perhaps hand kisses or maybe on the cheek. But when it comes to life or death or great bodily harm, notions like that have to go out the window.

That's a pragmatic way of looking at it.

Is everyone on Bluebell human? Is it all equally, um, [what's the emotion she's interpreting from his face, here] counter-instinctive...? For all of you?

I do believe my comrades possess a little less shame.
