[ she lifts the mug in a "cheers" motion. ]

Thistle... oh, that's right. Lupin does tend to carry a coffee scent on him.

Ah, now that I think on it, Lily did get a bag of grounds. Perhaps that was coffee...? Do you know how to make it?

I don't. [ She takes another sip at that. ] Thistle is simply trying to curry favor with me.

[ and with how satisfied she's looking, it looks like it's working. ]

... well, you are the prettiest of the Weeds, I can see why. ( said very matter-of-factly, as if it's as true as the sky is blue. ) Are they looking for something from you specifically?

I have an agreement with their shepherd in terms of information.

( did not peg lupin as the type.................... but, then, that's probably a good thing.

Would you like more? I'm more adept at tea, but I think coffee would be within my ability to make.

[ She tips her head to one side. ]

What does Lily want out of this?

Some protection or assistance. Protection preferred, assistance is the second best option.

I do not mean "protection" as in "fight for us", but prevention of causalities would be preferred. Is that amendable?

[ She hums, considering. ]

I think "protection" is going a bit far. After all, it's one of your flockmates who's been threatening me. [ another sip. ] But there are instances in these rituals where we have . . . boons of sorts. I could certainly be persuaded to grant those. [ a beat. ] Or at least . . . not hinder.

Who has been threatening you? That's quite a problem I'd like to address first.

Lethe. Or as I knew him, Honey. We'd have nice conversations, but then he'd always go on about, "oh behave or we'll have to kill you." "Behave or I'll tell them what the Weeds can do."

[ She's not saying that's why she's been targeting them, but . . . ]

Oh, Lethe.

( sounds like he's relieved, but also exasperated. )

He's always spouting off some sort of inane threat... he threatened me when I came back to the barn late! ( gusty sigh. ) I'll talk to him. Ridiculous... he's older than me and he can't behave maturely...

Anyhow - not actively hindering or granting us a boon would be helpful, indeed. Is there anything else you'd like that I might be able to grant, in case of an emergency shortage?

[ She considers that for a moment before seeming satisfied. ]

I am fortunate in that I do not need to eat quite like Your Name or the others with the black collars, though I do have my vices.

[ She lifts her mug. ]

Hmmmmm. ( small smile. ) Information it is, then.

No use for cosmetics? I've been scrounging for some good kohl, myself.

[ She idly twirls some of her hair around one finger. ]

The snake can provide me with that. He could provide me with coffee too, but there's something quite lovely about it being fresh.
