WHO: Lily? and passersby?
WHERE: Lily
WHEN: Day 11, noon-ish
[After this noisy nonsense Honey stomps out of Lily's front yard and for a moment it seems like peace will reign in the pasture for maybe another hour or so
Alas, it was not to be. Before he can hop the fence the color abruptly drains from his collar and a bell grows out of it! Naturally, the bell also starts ringing. The sound of bells is pretty common, but maybe the sound of one more is enough to draw your attention? Either way, Honey turns right back around and goes to knock on Lily's barn door with the air of someone who has just accidentally set off a school fire alarm.]

[if she's approaching, he will offer her a small, lumpy package wrapped in white cloth, maybe the size of her two fists together; it was a little hard to see, tucked close against the folds of his coat.]

[she tilts her head to look at them, hesitating.]
What are those?

[he doesn't seem particularly offput by the odd request, just puzzled at best, but he'll answer her other question.]
These are foods and supplies that will last you more decently, for a few days. You are not well-equipped for the situation the snake has put you into, or you would not take as opportunistically as I have seen you do. The recreational room has foraging resources, and cultivating an unclaimed spot in the community garden would not go amiss. The plants grow fast, and it may make less trouble for you than digging up that of others.
I would offer an arrangement for shelter as well, if you do not have it, but...
[shakes his head]
You may do better with another flock; you may have noticed our barn is tempestuous.

[suddenly suspicious. All of that sounds like work, and it's not what the snake wants her to do.]
...Why do I have to call and ask permission to take a peach or three? You're the Shepherd. I know you can just tell your 'flock' that "this weed who looks like this will come around and pick fruit occasionally. I told her she can. Leave her alone." You're placing the burden on me. And what if they don't care and drive me off anyway? Am I supposed to come complain to you?

I will not participate in an exercise that, to me, has no explicit purpose other than making conversation much more confusing.
I know that the snake has shown very little indication that it cares for your well-being, or that of others like you, and your lifeline may be more precarious than you think.
And for the last: I am offering you a kindness, because I walked in your dream two nights before, and saw that you could use some. Call it recompense for invading your privacy, if you like. But I am also not obliged to immediately remove all burden from you, or give you free rein with Lily; you are still a stranger to me, and to them. With familiarity comes easement.

Okay, that's a lot to unpack. Let's handle it one at a time. [she clears her throat.]
"My name is your name. I want you to call me your name. Please say: 'Hello, Your Name.'"

Have a good evening, miss.

Here comes a rain cloud to follow him, and eventually rain on him.]

it is not worth it to him to make any sort of fuss just to block some rain, but the fact that this is her reaction to this…tracks? it feels very much apiece with the day he’s had so far.]
The snake discarded one of your fellows today. You do not necessarily die, or return where you came from, when that happens. Be careful.
[and he continues on his way indoors.]

[He's out of the truth field. A talking cube is counterproductive. She'll have to file that away.
...She's going to be a little more vindictive and take an extra peach than she could reasonably need before taking that and the other stuff and moving on.]
