[well there's still new landmarks to explore, new teammates (and new ragged individuals) to meet. occasional gunfire's been resounding through the woods sometimes, scaring birds up into the air and sending wandering pygmidillos in the meadow askitter.

Does the healing work if your blood is consumed dried?

[he could actually test this on his own, he HAS their blood in that form, but]

I ask because if so, it is less trouble for Rose to gradually collect and transport it in that form, than to drain yourselves in times of crisis only.

[thanks you're a bro. Charon keeps pace with him, more or less; the little ghost sheep and its basket circle between them, seemingly providing some kind of guiding effect so he can walk with relative grace.

they wind up at one of the intermediate parts of the fence, where it's set solidly between the mist and the open meadow. he waits for Yas's go-ahead before tossing out an illusion with a casual flick of his fingertips: instead of a dragon, a gryphon untwisted by the nuances of nightmare.

planted on the grass of the meadow itself, it seems fine enough, but the side of it nearer the mist flickers faintly.]

[ he's looking at a gryphon's ass. just two legs and an ass, since its front half is unfortunately still mist.

You reckon you could make the lake look like the safe pasture? Specifically barns.

The illusions work at the lake. They have a range, however; it is likely you would need more of Lily, to reproduce the entire meadow.

I'm not trying to drown anyone.

[ eyes open wide, horrified. even if Charon can't see his expression, it certainly comes through in his tone. what's with this violent misconception??? ]

Some poor homeless guy tried to set fire to our barn, but he tripped and hit his head before he could finish the job. We considered letting him stay with us out of the kindness of our hearts, but a constant fire hazard is a little much, even for us.

At the same time... if he were to get himself eaten by lake GatorDawgs, it wouldn't be our place to interfere. Free pasture and all that.

I fail to see why you did not just put him down by their territory while he was dazed.

Yeah. This one was covered in burns. Hard to miss.

I heard that the snake summoned them.

He did. I spoke to the one who was acting the least threatening.

It doesn't seem he's exactly giving them guidance unless they seek it out, though.

It seems so.

Spare the friendlier ones your lake-based wrath to start with, if you can. There aren't many of them, and I want to see what the snake is trying to accomplish.

You keep painting me as such a violent person.

I must respectfully point out that the lake-based wrath was not my proposition.

If someone can't sit peacefully without provoking the wildlife via arson, it's not my problem.

[god their barns are all so damn flammable and the snake doesn't need to summon people with fire powers, it just needs to get some chump who'll go along with it and hand them some torches. he doesn't know how they're going to get around that one without questing for an inordinate amount of magic or chemicals. privately, he banishes the idea of trying to get a night's sleep again when the hallucinations go away.]

Do you have better suggestions for dealing with an unconscious pyromaniac? Ones that don't involve direct harm or murder on Rose's part.

If you do, I'm all ears. For the record, one of my teammates suggested strapping him to Cerby, but I don't know how much Cerby would like that.

I am voiding that plan immediately. We would all go deaf within an hour's time.

Why don't you just point him at a better target than the barns?
