[well there's still new landmarks to explore, new teammates (and new ragged individuals) to meet. occasional gunfire's been resounding through the woods sometimes, scaring birds up into the air and sending wandering pygmidillos in the meadow askitter.
what are you up to this fine day?]

Re: @shepherds
[frowns]
Some groups had answers that happened to match Death's point of view; others did not. What escape was there to be had? There was no avoiding the harm by manipulating the answer, when all had to give it honestly.

Re: @shepherds
[shakes his head]
With things like these, it's best not to take it personally. I suspect it was rather like the first demon's method: a way to forcibly narrow down who sheds blood in the end, rather than any kind of real competition, or philosophical exercise.
Re: @shepherds
Even if it's best to not take it personally, that doesn't change the fact that both of our teams could have died. It's still stupid.
Re: @shepherds
[their teams had been so much wreckage on Bluebell's lawn; he'd been able to make that out even through Death's punishment. his own wounds were healed, but he still feels them, if he lets himself dwell on it.]
Unfortunately, these forces play by their rules; it is usually so. So we must find ways to work around those.
Re: @shepherds
We won't take loopholes, though. Just to be clear.
[Because they want to try to assure their safety as much as possible.]
Re: @shepherds
I cannot complain of anyone taking the steadier path, as it has been laid out. It is a lot to deal with, otherwise.

Re: @shepherds

I do not know if this means anything from a stranger, but I would also see you safe, if I could.
[the truth will have to do.]
Re: @shepherds
[shrug]
If anything ever does come up, it'll take a lot to convince us. That's all.
Re: @shepherds
Then I will wait for high stakes indeed, to ask.

Re: @shepherds
I'd still rather he didn't do anything but I know I can't really control him, so... thank you.
Re: @shepherds
We will also try to not induce so much alarm in future, though...with the way things are, I truly cannot make promises on that.
