a ding dang mingle

WHO: anyone
WHERE: anywhere
WHEN: Day 9, morning through to late afternoon

[well there's still new landmarks to explore, new teammates (and new ragged individuals) to meet. occasional gunfire's been resounding through the woods sometimes, scaring birds up into the air and sending wandering pygmidillos in the meadow askitter.

what are you up to this fine day?]

[With Odin it's like...sometimes it feels like one soul, but then you blink and it feels like two, and you blink again and it's one. Not quite fucked up, but Very Weird and difficult to tell if it's one soul or two.]

Them having longer legs won't make a difference will it?

[he's a had a lot of practice in repressing his instinctive reactions to weird souls, but he's Noting that

shakes his head]

Not for walking or trotting. Leg reaches further, but still move legs in same order.

[It's a soul problem for another time!]

Order? You mean they don't just step with all the legs on each side at once?
electricflock: (17)

[personal profile] electricflock 2023-06-06 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
No, harder to balance like that. Watch four-legged animals walk or try crawling: front leg does not move until back is stepping down.

[He looks at other nearby sheep. Trying to watch their legs move as they walk.

So he picks one up and it just keeps moving its legs like it is walking while Odin is holding it, so he can look at how the feet move.
]

...huh. They do move kinda opposite of each other, don't they?

[suddenly a little relieved he didn't demo how to walk with his own four-legged gryphon form]

Right. So will have to teach sheep not to move middle leg exact same time as front leg.
shortforever: (02)

[personal profile] shortforever 2023-06-06 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
When should it move the middle legs then? With the back legs?
electricflock: (46)

[personal profile] electricflock 2023-06-06 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
That's the hard part. Should be almost same time as front leg. Right after front leg.
shortforever: (02)

[personal profile] shortforever 2023-06-07 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Ssssso like, kinda like how a caterpillar moves?
electricflock: (17)

[personal profile] electricflock 2023-06-07 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Don't know any bugs, but should be like that too. Like a beetle.
shortforever: (04)

[personal profile] shortforever 2023-06-07 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Beetles have their legs out at the side, not under 'em. Let's just...go back to the horse person.
electricflock: (2)

[personal profile] electricflock 2023-06-07 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Tall beetles... Um.

How good are sheep at following instructions?
shortforever: (106)

[personal profile] shortforever 2023-06-11 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
They're all kinda dumb, it takes some time and practice.
electricflock: (46)

[personal profile] electricflock 2023-06-12 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Practice is important... Um. Could get something to loop around its elbows? Not tightly, but to tug on middle leg when front leg moves.
shortforever: (22)

[personal profile] shortforever 2023-06-12 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
We have like, clothes and stuff I guess? Would that help?
electricflock: (20)

[personal profile] electricflock 2023-06-12 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. A couple socks tied together would work.
shortforever: (09)

[personal profile] shortforever 2023-06-12 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Alright, well, I'll try that.

[Grinning, he picks up the little purple sheep.]

You hear that Rika? You're gonna learn how to walk.

Will take practice, but will be worth it! Know lots of people with six and eight legs.
