Re: THE CITY
But he cocks his head, sneering.]
I. . .don't know what to make of this, but we just work the rations station. You'll need to go to corporate if you want any chance of a meeting with the Prince.
Re: THE CITY
If you’re giving us the go-ahead to enter corporate, lower your weapons, please. The last thing I want is a fight in the middle of a civilian zone.
Re: THE CITY
We don't have the authority to give you any kind of okay, but if you go to corporate, the front desk might be able to help you. Good freaking luck, there have been people waiting to speak with him for months.
[then, he taps at the table]
If you're going to go, go ahead and our security won't stop you, but leave the food. Not just to make sure you aren't lying, but you could cause a riot just trotting all that through the streets.
Re: THE CITY
That’s up to him. He’s the one carrying all of it.
[sure enough there is like zero food strapped onto Charon. it’s not an illusion either; all the food smells they can pick up are coming from where Muffin is pulling stuff out]
Re: THE CITY
[the first nods to the other wolf, who begins talking to muffin. Then he points down the street.]
Fine. Like I said, you'll need to go to the corporate office--you'd need to even if you weren't here to just to talk to him. We try to register everyone who comes to the city so we can keep track of folks, and have records in case anyone goes missing or is devoured by the King.
So that's your next step.
Re: THE CITY
[he will wait until the others have finished talking/sorting things out before he trundles them thataway]
Re: THE CITY
No matter where you go, there truly is no escape from bureaucracy.
[can we just fly up to his office... climb his tower like king kong]
Re: THE CITY
I can take two bodies through his office window without breaking it. Can you account for the third?]
Re: THE CITY
[Angie said telepathy comes standard in genome bodies so theoretically she SHOULD be able to do this. She's digging deep into the weird chunk of magitek in their shared chest to try to figure out how this works, and is currently doing the mental equivalent of tapping the mic.]
[A voice that is simultaneously inaudible and yet very clearly Azdaja gets beamed into the heads of both Charon and Muffin:]
I cannot.
The only thing I can think of is that I could ride along in your head while Reverence rides in Muffin's. Four souls, two bodies.
But I'm not kidding when I say we should find a private place to make that exchange, as it is...
unsettling.
Re: THE CITY
Re: THE CITY
[he doesn’t have any secret spy ways of communicating WHY ARE WE GOING THROUGH WINDOWS??]
Re: THE CITY
Re: THE CITY
[oh shit the telepathy worked ✨ This is officially her new favorite form of communication now.]
We could sign in at the desk and go in through the window as Plan B if they ask us to come back later. At least we'll have made the effort to play by their rules. But this is a bit time-sensitive, so hopefully they'll understand.
Re: THE CITY
Come along then. We can follow the niceties a bit longer; perhaps novelty and what we offer will carry the day there, as well.
[time to sail majestically into corporate’s ground floor like they own the place]
Re: THE CITY
Re: THE CITY
Re: THE CITY
a she-would in a stereotypical pencil skirt/suit runs up to them.]
Ah, pardon me, but do you have an appointment? We're awfully swamped today.
Re: THE CITY
If you didn't know we were coming already, dearie, you are far too low on the chain to have this conversation with us.
Re: THE CITY
Reverence if you speak to Ceo like this I'm gonna throw us both out the window.
Re: THE CITY
Re: THE CITY
At least that might reinforce your wolf cred.
Re: THE CITY
[…]
Or rather, he won’t want to. But he’ll find it worth his while.
Re: THE CITY
Re: THE CITY
My--my apologies, but I have managed the prince's schedule thoroughly since Miss Bea's resignation! Surely I would not have missed such a vital appointment. . .?
[she calms tho, clearing her throat trying not to let a growl bubble up. She flips through a schedule book.]
But, royal houses you say? Lily, Rose, Daffodil. . .we have survivors from Azalea, Lilac and Buttercup meant to speak with counselors in two moons time. Why should you skip ahead of them? What resources?
Re: THE CITY
Please forgive me, that was a terribly rude thing for me to say. I hit my head recently and sometimes things just fall right out of my mouth.
I'm sorry, dearie, it's not you, it's me.
[CLAMPS ANGIE'S TEETH FUCKING SHUT
CHARON AND MUFFIN TAKE THE WHEEL]
