It's a demon that accepted sacrifices from flock Shepherds in the past to keep the mist at bay. We have a. . . uh. Bad history with that demon. And they were supposed to be dead.

[makes a face]

Whether they actually are or not is up in the air, but we need to head back out into the mist to rescue the rest of the sacrifices.

[ok. demon turning people to statues, not sure if dead, need to launch a rescue mission.

No. . . people from a very long time ago. Those who were in the pasture long before we arrived.

[seems like he's grappling with the reason behind this.]

Then why are you going?

[and Lupin's response also tells him a lot. he wondered why this was specifically up to Thistle, so this answer works.

[there's a short pause before he speaks up again-]

[tilting his head to the side, studying Bombay carefully]

. . . I was thinking about asking you to come with us, since you're so close to Acheron. It'll be dangerous, though.

["dangerous" he says to an assassin...]

Went in there before with Lily. Nothing I can't handle.

[well. there is one matter he needs to discuss, come to think of it.]

[HE DOESN'T KNOW THE ASSASSIN PART! . . . but considering how Bombay pulled a gun on him during the last ritual, he isn't surprised by that response]

Edgelord was the Weed that guided us last time. I'm going to ask him to tag along, too.
