There was Warden, that purple-haired demon that left a while ago, and another Weed I'd never met before. [ This is where her valiant attempt at maintaining composure kind of falls apart. ] And he a-ate someone alive! In the first round! Which was entirely unnecessary, might I add!

...What, just 'cause he wanted to and was takin' advantage of the ritual to do it?

Tch. If he wants to eat people, he can do it on his own time..,

[ Shoots him a slight Look for the first part, but she quickly moves on to his question, pressing a finger to her temple. ]

I don't know how much there is to be done. I already called Hannya to check in and told him they're free to handle Jazz however they see fit. —Since the victim was a Clover, by the way.

[ A beat. No, anger is always at least a little bit of a factor. ]

Well, we also ended up killing a Lily in the second round because he made poorer choices than we accounted for. I've been advised it's probably best not to attempt to mend that bridge.

... A-And we were pulled into the other rooms to get hurt a bit, too, since we were playing like the rest of the flocks. So you're probably lucky you weren't there.

[ Not totally managing to keep a wobble out of her voice for the last part. ]

[after another moment of consideration, he takes a couple of steps towards her]

[ Glances up again when he approaches, the look in her eyes something close to tentatively hopeful. ]

It don't matter how it measures up to others. All that matters is what you think about it.

[with a look like he is not entirely sure what he is doing, but no actual hesitance—he is making a decision and committing to it—he sits down on the bed next to her and puts an arm around her.]

[ The gesture seems to break some kind of emotional dam, and she immediately turns into him so she's burying her face in his chest and gripping his coat with both hands. ]

...Dunno who'd like that kinda thing. Even if they're a maso-whatever. It's ugly and cowardly, settin' up some stupid rules outta nowhere and usin' people to hurt each other.

The other Weeds seemed to enjoy themselves well enough.

Well, maybe they were puttin' up a front 'cause they don't want you to see them lookin' weak. Or maybe they're the kinda idiots who'll grab on to any power they're given 'cause they can't manage to do it for themselves.

[ Extracts her face from his chest just long enough to look up at him, some uncertainty in her expression. ]

... Not looking weak around me? Do you think they'd see me as enough of a threat to be worried about that?

You ain't thinkin' about if the people seein' are actually a threat when you're worried about me comin' into your room, or whatever.
