It's just the way it is. The only person I really know well is Shoichi and he's an even higher level officer than I am. So if there is time to talk to him, it's work related.

But work's pretty much play for you, too, I guess...

Usually. I've been hiding in a bunker within the walls of the base once I get my main duties out of the way so I can work on my projects. Though recently more and more they've decided to call on me for more things usually outside of my duties. I didn't sign up for taking guys down in person.

Are they that low on men?

Hmm? Not at all. Just, even if Shoichi is higher ranking than me, I'm still up there. And the target was close to my area of the base.

Are you much of a combatant?

Like hand-to-hand? Not really. I'm an engineer, not a fighter. So, if I'm expected to fight outside of piloting one of the moscas, I just opt for a gun.

As long as it works I guess.

I'm tired just thinking about fighting someone with my hands.
