it's a really beautiful day, actually. sunny and deeply pleasant weather. maybe sometime today people might return from a snadventure (snake adventure), or maybe not? the wildlife and your lil resident sheep are all perky and up and at 'em and full of energy. hopping.

He is both of those things, yes!

He is also the head of a dorm that follows the rules set by the Queen of Hearts. And he's very insistent on enforcing every single one of said rules, no matter how ridiculous.

Then... knowing that, going in, I feel that it is probably a good idea to follow them? If you go into something knowing the rules, then you cannot actually complain about having to follow them after the fact.

You're right of course. It would be difficult to forget about such inventive rules.

Such as the one that says if you get soaking wet you must run in the sea to dry, and the one about how if you eat steak on the night of a full moon, a cat must play the violin afterwards.

How do you...dry in the sea?

It's a conundrum, isn't it?

Thankfully for Riddle, the Octavinelle dorm is located in a building protected by a magical dome at the bottom of the ocean, so he was able to satisfy the requirements of that rule (after he forgot his umbrella one day) by running laps around our lounge for a few hours.

What a strange fellow.

If I were him, and I were in charge of my dorm, I think I would just change any ridiculous rules.

The rules set in place by the Queen of Hearts herself? No one would abide by that.

It does not sound as though anyone is abiding by the rules to begin with, aside from Riddle-san? So it seems like the next natural course of action.

Not completely abiding by them and changing them are two very separate things.

The best thing to do would be to simply acknowledge that not everyone is capable of meeting the Queen of Hearts' high standards while still paying lip service to her rules out of respect.

Indeed, we do. I wish that I was able to show you Yumenosaki Academy though. I know my memories are full of holes, but it is certainly a happy place for me.

Naturally, I wish I were able to see your own, too. Despite its eccentricities, I do think it sounds very interesting.

If I ever pull up a memory that shows a decent amount of the campus grounds then perhaps I can play it back for you at some point.

[Not that he's been using many of his coins recently, paranoid as he is about the potential to lose more memories in the future.]

I should at least show you our dorm. It has quite a pleasant atmosphere.

Perhaps once upon a dream? I know dream walking is not out of the question here. But I suppose it requires being able to control them and properly remembering.
