I'm trying to get food, a necessity of life. This makes me like a panhandler with no dignity. The terms are unequal.

I want you to take my advice so that you can get some fruit, that's all.

If that's too much to handle, then make it equal by offering a trade. There's plenty of herbs and other things growing that you can gather up and offer in exchange. That's how we do it - we trade with each other.

Okay, let's see... say, I want a lemon. Daffodil wants a cat-tail in payment. So, I go out and get them a cat-tail. But, that's not enough, they want it ground into flour. So I do this, and I've wasted all the amount of time it took me to find a cat tail, and take it back to where there's communal tools, and grind it into a powder, and carry it back to them, in which case I hope the right Daffodil is home so I can get my lemon. That is, assuming if he even honors the deal and doesn't just laugh in my face. --Oh, then I discover there's some guy on bluebell who can grind like, a hundred cat tails, in ten seconds. So, what was the point other than making me waste my time? --Just give me a lemon. Is the fact I worked on it so hard give it so much more value? Please, have pity on this poor weed. This poor weed who just wanted something nice for salad. Or lemonade. Or even ice cream. --So, now I'm not 'trading', I'm begging, which is what I've really been doing all along, because I'm a weed. I can't even say "Hey, I've got one too many peaches or figs, lets trade you a lemon."

At least I get booze when we win. You sheep love that.

There's no influence. He usually goes along with us, not the other way around.

He isn't, far as I know. If he gets paired with us, we all work together - and we wouldn't make him do something we wouldn't do ourselves.
