[ With Bluebell's lovely morning rite, it's shaping up to be quite the peaceful day. The spring thaw continues, bringing young lilywogs with lingering stubby tails to the shores. It's easy to spot them floating among the reeds, though they're still prone to scattering if disturbed.

And across the pasture everyone is hopefully having a peaceful day, right? Or have some of you been getting up to shenanigans instead? ]

[ i don't have a bird icon for 'visibly drooping from relief' but that is the vibe rn. the cube looks sort of a like a marshmallow being squished from the top with how it collapses down.

Pops up his head to look around just to make sure he's got right of it.

"North side. You can see the mist-Greenhouse from here." ]

[he doesn’t hang up, even if though he’ll be there as fast as he can fly, so angie gets the background track of rustling wingflaps as muffin shifts his wings out, the window opening, a sound like a wince, and then the FLAP FLAP WHOOSH of flying to rose]

[ but muffin's already off.

he huddles down in place and listens to flight asmr, with the occasional small, soft coo that means absolutely nothing besides a sign that he's still here, and still fine. ]

[Muffin pips a tiny response to every coo, two birds making soft little noises to each other.

the cube call hangs up after a minute or two, but then there’s the shadow of wings overhead and muffin fluttering down to land by the fence]

Quetzal?

[ the dove's head pops up.

he is not used to speaking bird. the sounds he's making are entirely running off of vibes, right now, and that coo-OO-oo, shorter than a mourning dove's typical call, is very much

'the person i want to build a nest with is here...'

he sideways shuffles along the top of the fence so he can be that much closer, and keeps adjusting his head's position in sharp little motions so that he can look Muffin all over. ]

[murmurs a soft, broody ohr ohr and holds his hands out to angel dove

'i’m here i’m on my nest']

Are okay? Not hurt like that?

[tyr bandaged muffin up at the clinic so there’s no more visible blood, but he’s definitely keeping his weight off one leg. he looks tired and his hair is crusty with dried sand— he’s been almost nonstop searching for Quetzal since he teleported away]

He's never been!!! This small!!! The capuchin was one thing but this is very much another.

...Muffin really looks like he could use a rest, and like he didn't get out so unscathed, himself. Angie-dove flutters down off the fence into the grass, and looks up at him expectantly, like.

[he sits, fluttering his wings to ease himself down instead of trusting to the bad leg]

[ hop-hops closer to the hurt leg. mark this a situation so messed up, angel devil can't even muster up being a Weird Pervert about it.

there's a little sparkling sound, and a halo of white light appears around Muffin's leg. But... it's a very weak spell for what he would normally be tossing around.]

[whistles appreciatively. he can figure out that quetzal must not have much magic to spare right now, but to heal muffin anyways…]

then he just. scoots close as he can. and hunkers down to hide his head under his wing while right up next to him.

I am NOT cut out for "adventuring. This is terrible for my complexion." ]

[ducks and hunches his wings up into a feathery shelter. all anyone will see from the outside is muffin huddled into his wings, but underneath he’s cupped his hand gently around angel dove, guarding him even closer still.]

Was… fun at start. Looked beautiful swimming.

[ "I did like being out in the open ocean this time. Better lit. I saw your pattern so clear."

This body is really different to be in, he finds. He feels... secure, after the humiliating chaos of his revival. There's not even that moment where he thinks through his opinion on the situation and decides he likes it, or that it's safe. It's this snap bit of knowledge that THIS is security.

His ambient twitchy anxiety level is also WAY UP but hey whatever we already know quetzal is GREAT at functioning thru fear kissgame taught us all about that ]

[yeah he’s fishing, but a little flirting is an okay breather. pets quetzal’s feathers, pinching his claws like a beak to preen him]

[ he obligingly turns when necessary to make it easier. in particular, the ones around his neck seem the most askew; more than the interruption you'd expect from the collar.

anyway, what's a partner for but for a little building you up when you most need it?
