[You may have gotten a note delivered this morning inviting you to THE LANTERN RITE. The invite is as follows:

LANTERN RITE
Please come eat food, fly kites, send wishes on paper lanterns into the sky
Harass Tart for magic fireworks
COME EARLY to handcraft your own kites and lanterns! Materials provided!!!!!!!!!

There's picnic tables with supplies at the ready! Materials provided because arts and crafts shit is free from Red so certain hyenas don't have to swallow their pride. Stubborn little bastard. Paper, wood in just the right sizes, candles that did not ruin us because we're good at the economy, paints and crayons, string. All the little bits and bobs you need to make lanterns and kites to send your wishes soaring above to the heavens.

There's tea, there's egg soup, grilled fish, fried radish balls, a noodle soup with delicious and safe mushrooms don't worry about it… and lots of oranges. So many oranges. Oranges are free.

If you wish to learn more about Lantern Rite, perhaps a tall, handsome man with a soothing and dreamy voice could tell you a story….]

Lanterns have always been a part of Liyue's history... at first it was to guide soldiers home from the wars. But after the Archon war it became a way to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives during the war. Eventually becoming a festival of remembrance.

Perhaps this is best done today by remembering those that are no longer here in the pasture with us.

[ tart is sitting around mostly supervising, mostly eating fish and egg soup, but if you come harass him for magic fireworks he might shoot off a few lightshows. if cinnamon is in the middle of telling a story when you ask, the lightshow might be vaguely related to the tale, only with sheep for the characters. they're not very big or bold, especially not during the daytime, and they're also not very loud—very lowkey fireworks here today. but they're fun! ]

WISHES and LANTERNS

[During the day there are kites but when night begins to fall over the pasture it's time for the lanterns to be sent on their way. In Liyue it's all done at the same time in a big fantastic display. Such coordination might be hard fought here so he'll simply help by making sure each lantern has the wish written out and then seeing it on its way.

Quite easy... As Liyue is a thriving port you'll find wishes about making a fortune or prosperous businesses. It can be as broad or as narrowed down as you like.

Onward and upward, good health, finding the one, harmonious family... things of that nature.

But when you're ready I'll help you send it into the sky with the hopes that your wish will come true.
