Waving a little with his right hand, given his left arm is still bandaged from the wolf fights earlier.]
Re: @ peony
Ah, good afternoon. I don't believe we've met.

Re: @ peony
People don't just settle for ordinary names around here, do they?
Re: @ peony
Re: @ peony
Anyway, you brought food? Did you make it yourself?
Re: @ peony
And yes, I did! I work at a restaurant back in my world.
Re: @ peony
Do you have any tips on where to get ingredients? I don't think the rest of my team's all that interested in foraging, but I'd like to get some reliable food sources figured out.
I can probably hunt, too, although right now I'm limited to what I can handle with just a knife.
Re: @ peony
As for hunting and foraging, the cold has caused both edible flora and fauna to be a bit more hard to come by, but they can still be found. I would suggest the odd sheep-crabs at the beach. Their meat has a unique flavor and they're fairly easy to catch. I've also just provided Pegasus with some anatomical diagrams of some of the better hunting targets here if you're looking for larger prey.
Re: @ peony
Anatomical data should help a lot, too. Are there any specific ways of preparing the meat you'd recommend?
Re: @ peony
Scistors can be prepared like chicken, but their bones are made of actual metal, so be careful when roasting them in the oven because of how that effects how quickly they cook if you don't remove the meat from them. Gatordawg is a bit gamey but good with barbecue and stewed. Pygmydillos are basically wild hogs and can be cooked accordingly.
The sheep-crabs have meat that somehow manages to incorporate the flavors of both animals and I'm still figuring out how best to work with it but it seems pleasantly versatile.
Re: @ peony
I'm not sure we have much we can use to flavor or prepare it other than cooking it through, but if we can quest for more foods or spices, it would give us a lot more options.
