I did not know if you had departed already or not. You are going after Leviathan-san, correct?

[ The anxiety in his expression is more than clear.]

I am sure you have already made arrangements. I just-

[He is beyond worried about his roommate, about Leviathan, Lethe and Sonata.]

Did Leviathan have the Forever Snake scale on him when he was captured? Perhaps a holy item will help. If you have not heard already, Persephone-san has created a poison that you can tip weapons with. Do you all have weapons? If you get lost in the forest, the deer can help guide you back, but it would be best to have a weed along with you all-

[ Since this is after he's spoken to Rubato, he's quiet and lets Crescendo speak, also stepping out to talk. When he's done, he shakes his head. ]

I don't know what he had on him, and I didn't know Persephone was making poisons as well. [ Well, he can't feel bad about not being invited to the poison party right now. ] But I'll let the others know. We're preparing and we have a Weed arranged.

[ Watching him... ]

Are you staying behind?

[He shakes his head no.]

. . . I was worried at first. I am good with a bow, but normal weapons do not work on the mist wolves. Charm does not work on them either, and I do not have magic like so many others in this place possess.

Leviathan-san has told me that I will merely slow others down if I engage with the wolves when I do not have a method of fighting them.

[ One of his hands fists at his side into the fabric of his jacket.]

But if the poison works as intended, I should be able to help this time. And I have been training so hard for a while now. I can help.. I just... hate that I cannot be split into two.

[He glances back up at Belle.]

. . . Please find him and bring him back.

[ He sighs. ]

Focus on what you have to do, first. Worrying about what you can't will slow you down, and Leviathan knows that. And I do not intend to return empty-handed. He is my schoolmate as well.

[ Belle also doesn't seem to be in the mood to crack a remark about how Leviathan will absolutely owe him for this on their return home. ]

Go without worry, Crescendo.

[ He pauses, looking a bit... ]

Rubato will be going with you?

[It is a relief to hear that he intends to absolutely return with his eel- a little bit of comfort when he feels the anxiety of not being able to follow after them and help. He releases a breath before he nods.]

Indeed. Until Minuet-san returns to us, he is our current Shepherd. He would not allow one of our own to be snatched away in the claws of monsters without giving chase. I would not respect a leader who sat back or found that to be an acceptable loss. Especially when it is Melody-oneesan.

[ Belle's a great actor, but even he can't hide the tension in his form when Crescendo says that. To think he stressed Rubato out before this, all over his own feelings. Feelings Rubato wasn't even incorrect in guessing.

He's quiet for a bit, but then... ]

Will you look after him for me? He's focused on his goals and will see them through no matter what, but a little support will go a long way. Now that our Apple is here, I want him to return to us so we can all be together again.

I will protect Rubato-senpai with my life.

[He would do it for him and any of those within his circle. It is a promise, though, and one he means. His expression softens a moment later, though. Clearly, Belle is worried too, and he thinks he may have added to that, which is a shame. Especially, when he has someone else to focus on right now.]

Apple, you say, though...? Another schoolmate?

[ If only you knew why, Tsukasa.

He nods, though. ]

Apple Poison... or Beet, I suppose, is Rubato and my underclassman at Pomefiore. He's...


[ Sighs. ]

He's a wonderful boy, even if he's a bit impulsive. He's ... a Weed now. And he wasn't happy about it at all. But Rubato absolutely needs to return safe- as well as you and your flock.

How frustrating. I would be upset too in that same position. Especially considering some of the downright nasty people among them.

. . . Though of course not all of the weeds are like that. It is good that he has the two of you to depend on however.
