[okay! it's been an exciting few days! of note:

- one of our newer people is bringing his husband over

- styx died recently

- perci is off asleep in a sheep pile still

- your shepherd probably should explain that it's a problem if you got hit by a light drizzle evening 45

- peony is coming over for dinner

- people probably have more memories to get back!

...I think the point is to make us do what they want. A lot of rituals have penalties for losing flocks, and sometimes those penalties will kill you. It's a messed up way to keep us from refusing to participate entirely.

Never heard of these rituals.

Not much. Acheron told me about teams. And magic.

...Okay. Well, you don't have to worry about the rituals since you're a Weed. I don't think any of you have ever been forced to take part in the dangerous ones. Your job is supposed to be just messing with the rest of us, but I don't think anything's forcing you to do that either. You can just do what you want.

... But Acheron would be in danger during these rituals.

Acheron will be with Lily, and we're not going to let anything happen to him or anyone else on Lily if we can help it.

[that doesn't ease him in the slightest. they're in a dangerous business together, it's not unusual for them to have separate assignments based on skill sets (Acheron typically handling honeypots and surveillance).

... You might be able to help us out now and then. There've been rituals where Weeds get assigned to different flocks, but... I'm sorry, but you're gonna have to watch from the sidelines in most of them.

Um. Other than rituals, there's a couple of Weeds that we need to avoid as much as possible. I know one of us will make sure Acheron knows about it, but if you're this close to him you should know too. Did anyone mention Pandora or Teleute already?

Never heard of them. Haven't run into any Weeds, either.

They're not all bad, so try not to worry about most of them unless they give you a reason. Like these two.

Both of these people are crazy powerful psychics. They can take your mind apart, reshape it, split you into different pieces of yourself...probably even more messed up stuff that I don't wanna think about.

You can't reason with them like humans, because they aren't human. Lily just tried to negotiate with Pandora, the glassy one, and it...went badly.

Your best bet is to try to stay out of their way.

Did you try shooting them?

Don't shoot the glass one. She'll just break, and she can attack you from her broken pieces. If you have to shoot her, use honeysuckle bullets. You can talk to Styx about getting some.

[ Changes the illusions in his hand to a vaguely cranky looking Styx. ]

...Probably not a good idea to shoot the birds either. She's an entire flock of birds, and you'd run out of bullets trying to hit them all.
