buubuubuu

WHO: Sheep
WHERE: Pasture
WHEN: Evening 42 - Morning 43

[IT'S NIGHTTIME AGAIN SHEEPIES AND THAT COMES WITH ANOTHER BITTER COLD SNAP.

But man did you know?? Heating and cooling and heating and cooling rapidly is really bad for pipes??

Shepherds - Roll 1d10!! If 5 or lower, congrats, SOME PIPES BURST IN YOUR BARN. Enjoy your flooding! If 6 or higher, you are spared.

Additionally, if your pipes burst, roll ANOTHER 1d10! If 5 or lower, congrats, all your food storage has been soaked and is now inedible! This is fine. If higher than 5, only a 4th of it is soaked.

OTHERWISE, HOW YALL DOING!]

You speak of a marriage contract, yes? That is quite the large one. But a happy one.

And I am told that for that particular contract you will know when the time is right.
rugpull: (Bro if you don't stop that shit.)

Spring weddings are preferable by most anyway. To begin a new chapter when the world is budding and in bloom is a fitting time.

[personal profile] thefinalcontract 2023-11-18 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen many traditional Liyue weddings, yes.
rugpull: (Seems like a bad idea.)

[personal profile] rugpull 2023-11-18 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I guess we'll have a traditional wedding since he's royalty or whatever unless we elope...

Weddings are about doing whatever you both want as it is a celebration between the both of you. Remember your say is important too.
rugpull: (Prepared for what?)

[personal profile] rugpull 2023-11-18 02:08 am (UTC)(link)

Oh, there are many steps even before the marriage takes place. The proposal, of course. Gift arrangements, arranging the ceremony and then the ceremony itself. And that consists of a wedding procession, welcoming the bride, then prayers and vows followed by banquet full of food and well wishes.

In Liyue, the city of contracts, a proper ceremony is important. And Liyue is also where Mora was created so gold is the color most likely to be worn by all parties out of respect for the God that founded their city. Flowing golden attire and elaborate headpieces full of sparkling gems and jewels are the norm and it is all quite beautiful to behold.

A proper Liyue wedding is quite the sight to see...

[He shakes the mud off his hands since it's getting a little harder to rescue the drowning plants.]

Have you been to a wedding before? As Tart is royalty I imagine a proper wedding for him is a rather grand display.

Not really....lotsa people just seem t'end up together but not always married where m'from. I've seen the proposal stage stuff?

Its customary t'cook in yer intended's kitchen with ingredients ya brought. Its to prove yer willing to feed each other.

That's a fine tradition... I like that quite a bit.

There is a proverb back home... With love water is enough; without love food doesn't satisfy. Which means, of course, that with love all your needs are basically satisfied and without it you are empty. Which is a fine sentiment but people do need to eat. A tradition to prove that you can take care of the other is quite lovely indeed.

Food is real important to us...and water of course. But for water we gots the wells and all we can do is wait for rains.

[personal profile] thefinalcontract 2023-11-18 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Where you live is there a chance of the wells running dry?
rugpull: (Eennnhhhhh....naw.)

[personal profile] rugpull 2023-11-18 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yeh.

And we ain't got running water where I'm at.

[personal profile] thefinalcontract 2023-11-18 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
I see... That must be quite difficult. It's no wonder you and Tart stockpiled so much. You must know very well what it is like to be hungry and thirsty.
rugpull: (Eennnhhhhh....naw.)

[personal profile] rugpull 2023-11-18 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
...yeh. I gone hungry lotsa times.

Tart ain't want me t'go through that again.

[If he wasn't covered in mud from all this plant rescue he'd ruffle his hair. It's the thought that counts.]

No... I don't want that either. For any of us. We'll work extra hard to make sure that doesn't happen.
