[ complete monotone rote recitation.
snaps his fingers. a thin little raincloud about four feet high stretches over the stray embers, and starts drizzling.]

[ mentally notes that tone ]
What about "camera"?

[ He brings a hand to his mouth, thinking, that word is actually vaguely--
He knows what a camera is.
Another warrior of chaos with a face he can't quite picture, sitting on a cliff's edge, quietly looking at the sunset of a fragment of a world neither of them knew-- "Too bad this is all getting destroyed. Wish I had a camera."--
He rubs his temple. ]
...I don't require an explanation, someone has beaten you to it. What about them?

[ shakes his head, nevermind. it can wait. ]
I'm gonna get one. A full Lighthouse, ideally — but I don't expect Red to be that generous.
In the worst case, a simple camera will do.
[ clearly this explains everything. ]

But a camera wouldn't be a bad idea. I wish we'd had one on hand a couple times now, thinking about it, imagine if we could sneak some record of Blossom's book to puzzle over at leisure...

[ you're not wrong, but he's thinking of the bigger picture. ]
Plenty of others have received gifts from home, so I doubt that obtaining a camera would be too much trouble.
But if possible, I'd like for something like that to never get stolen. A Lighthouse would solve that. [ see? explaining everything. ]
Besides... I think it's time that we put this "herd mentality" to the test. If it comes down to that—I trust that you'd be up for the challenge? Teammate.

I fully believe a lighthouse would pose some challenge for another team to abscond with, yes.
...As long as Red doesn't ask us for something truly egregious in exchange, it sounds a worthy enough pursuit. Having just paper and ink with which to make records right now is... not ideal, especially considering collective gaps in our recollection are not unheard of.
[ blood fiend has probably seen him scribbling away at times, by now. ]

Then we're on the same page.
[ stands up, dusts himself off ]
[ . . . sighs ]
Try not to make too many enemies while I'm gone.

...what, you call that little show earlier enmity? That was practically a friendly hello. Have fun!

but first, he'll stop at the fence. ]
That night may not have surprised us, but there are civilians here. Sheltered, naive civilians that witnessed their attachments being torn apart. They'll do anything in their power to make sure that it never happens again. Alliances will be formed, sooner or later.
You said it yourself: no one would miss us. The outcasts. The flock that fights amongst themselves in plain view.
The easy target.
... I'm not going to stop you from being yourself. Even if I wanted to, I doubt I could. But for now, it would be in our team's interest if we refrained from provoking Thistle, at least.
[ maybe there's a little ice in his tone. anyway, ciao. ]
