REGROUPING

[ JINGLE JINGLE: After the nonsense out with the mist, Zenith rings the shepherd's bell to gather all of Clover into the main room. Grab a pillow in the pillow pit and gather around, everyone. ]

So let's get this clear right away: the mist is starting to eat the meadow. Don't go out beyond the fence without taking a sunflower with you. Sonata and Biscuit planted a wall of them near the fence, so just grab one on your way out if you must go.

The sunflowers replicate sunlight and you can navigate a little bit in the mist with them, but not much. They can also slow down the shadow beasts if you ever encounter one, but try not to encounter one. You really don't want to get bit.

I went on two different trips recently into the mist. One went significantly better, though we did encounter... the... "Wolf King". He apparently exists and he's a very large, very dangerous wolf. He's hunting "sheep" and "her"... I'm sure you can all guess who "she" is. Apparently, we all smell like her.

If the mist expanding means he gets more territory, we could be in serious trouble. Be extra cautious beyond the fence, I mean it.

...

...that being said, I want to consider taking a trip into the mist ourselves. Whatever Thistle did, I wonder if it'd be possible for us to reverse it.

[ What a warning to get after she wandered off beyond the fence. But, well. Okay!! ]

Um... If you're warning about getting bit, is this some kind of werewolf thing?

I don't know the specifics yet, but apparently they found a demon in the mist. So far I've only ever found wasteland and half-eaten carcasses, but... it might go better if we don't immediately try to attack the first wolf we come across.

You're going to keep it in a pot?

...that's what it means, yeah. There's a cure, but it's hard to find.

However, Sonata and I both have one. So we're set if it ever happens to any of us.

[MAKING... A FACE]

Do you think we actually could? I don't even know what it's like out there past what I've been told.

If...

[ Oh boy. ]

What did Thistle do, anyway? I'd think they're gonna have a better idea on how to reverse it.

It wasn't because I was hungry. If there's an enemy in my way, I'm going to get rid of it.

...I have no idea what Thistle's state is, but they're apparently alive.

I think we've all proven we can think quickly in a stressful scenario, and none of us are particularly loose cannons. If the intent is to try and navigate stealthily through the mist, we might be able to do it.

...and our set of skills is particularly useful if we do get caught. The ability to potentially redo an encounter could be vital in a trip like that.

I'm not entirely sure. From what I've gathered so far, they attacked and killed a demon in a cave.

...though I guess I'd have no idea what to do in that case, if the demon is dead.

[personal profile] eonsadrift 2023-08-22 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
That's a good point... in that case, killing them is only detrimental to us.

Usually if there's something annoying in your way, killing it is the solution. If an area is cursed, you can get rid of the curse by killing the monsters that plague the area.

But the opposite seems to have occurred here.

[personal profile] adorabrawler 2023-08-22 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. So if that's the case, do you think we have to figure out if there's a way to bring it back?
eonsadrift: (091)

[personal profile] eonsadrift 2023-08-22 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
Something like that. I don't like the idea of reviving a demon, but we can't survive here if the mist keeps getting closer.

[personal profile] adorabrawler 2023-08-22 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
I also think I'm okay with a demon sticking around if it means we don't die or become werewolves or whatever.
