[ Your barn has a new???? (temporary???) addition! One of the outside walls now has a cabinet of various drinks, all of which sits behind what appears to be an L-shaped bar counter, complete with a sink, ice box, and glass cabinet on the inner side, and stools for customers(?) on the outer side.

Posted on the wall is a recipe book, and above it, a big chalkboard listing the various drinks from said recipe book.

Tied to the drinks cabinet are a number of ribbons in your barn's color. Wonder what those are for. ]

[Man, those grownups really like their alcohol to drink so much of it, Cacophonie thinks. Peasants back home always drank beer since it was cleaner than water, Cacophonie thinks. Maybe it actually tastes okay even if it smells terrible, Cacophonie thinks. It can't hurt for him to contribute more by drinking some once he can't figure out anything else to contribute with, Cacophonie thinks.

All these perfectly reasonable thoughts lead to the tragedy of: he went and got SO many shots worth of beer before anybody noticed.]

[Wait, wait, maybe it was just the first shot. He had his hopes too high, he just needs to lower his standards a bit now that he's prepared for it----

[This... is this really what people say tastes great? Really? Cacophonie double checks the full container he took. It says this is the stuff. Apparently this is the stuff.

He will never believe adults who are not his brother ever again, he thinks as he takes another shot.]

[Ugh. Ew. Agh. This tastes SO BAD. Maybe he should just sto... no. No if he stops it'll look like he was too weak, and WORSE he might waste a whole bottle after he went and opened it. Even if it tastes terrible he shouldn't be bad and waste stuff. He's a big boy who can handle this much.]

[Who thought this trial or whatever was a good idea? Why is this even happening? What is happening? He wakes up and the bar is a barn, wait he means the barn is a bar, this isn't even weirder than any of the other things that just kind of happen in his life like the birds and the snakes and the blood red moon and uhh what was he thinking about.]

[RIGHT!!! HE WAS THINKING ABOUT HOW GROSS THIS STUFF IS!!! No wonder they have to put in SO much stuff to make it more palatable!! Why even bother with all that when you could just drink the juice and the tea and stuff, too? What poisons grown ups' minds and numbs their tongues and makes this think is a good idea? Cacophonie takes another shot, grudgingly.]

[Blech.
He's made so much progress now though, he can't just NOT drink more. ...HAS he made progress? Will he truly reach the end of this trial? Is he even SUPPOSED TO? Those grown ups were drinking so much surely it's fine to drink THIS much. Surely. Probably?]

[His mind wanders back to the agriculture processes of his homeland, so far away...... physically and also like.......... time wise............. he never actually saw any of it though since he never went outside so this train of thought isn't all that nostalgic at all but for some reason he still feels a bit teary. ]

[Wait. Why though? What's there to be teary about aside from the fact that this stuff is GROSS. ...What's it made up of again, which grain was it? Which grains do they grow down at the... the granaries. Is that what they call them. That's not quite the right word, right?]

[Cacophonie distracts himself from the taste of his 11th shot by thinking deeply about such important questions as which grains, and also do they call that one the granary or is it a different facility, also is it spelled granary or grainary or grainery he's never written this word in his life]

[-why does it taste SO BAD though!!!! Humanity has been brewing bear for centuries and for WHAT!!!!!!!!! Is there no true progress in this world, are they doomed to forever repeat the same mistakes? Is that the cruelness of reality?

Wait this isn't his world.]

Does grammar truly matter? Are the laws of grammar to be followed even in a lawless land such a this? Do the laws of grammar supersede laws such as "no murder"?]

[They should make a law making gross alcohol illegal. That should be the first law made in this land. But wait, everyone else is drinking lots of it so that means they like it right?? Then would true cruelty be to deprive them? Is he the one who isn't openminded enough, is he being cruel by campaigning for this? What are the ethics involved in banned liquor? Do you say "the ethics involved in" that sounds weird not that he's had the thought.]

[Wait. Does he care about ethics? Thinks Cacophonie as he downs his 15th.]

[Thinking about this among other things is giving him a headache. Or maybe it's just swimming? He puts his head on the counter beside his empty shotglass. The counter feels nice and cool. He bets the floor is nicer and cooler. He oozes down to the floor. There was a thunk just now but he doesn't feel anything so it doesn't matter clearly. The floor is indeed... it's... what was he expecting from the floor other than hay. He moves his hand up to brush some hay out of his face and gives up halfway, letting his arm flop where it is. You know what, this is all very weird so it's probably just a dream. He should go back to sleep and get back to other dreams. Goodnight.]

( ... she's just going to gently slide a pillow under his head and drape a blanket over him, before moving two of the bean bags to give him a protective wall so he doesn't get stepped on. )
