[ Your barn has a new???? (temporary???) addition! One of the outside walls now has a cabinet of various drinks, all of which sits behind what appears to be an L-shaped bar counter, complete with a sink, ice box, and glass cabinet on the inner side, and stools for customers(?) on the outer side.

Posted on the wall is a recipe book, and above it, a big chalkboard listing the various drinks from said recipe book.

Tied to the drinks cabinet are a number of ribbons in your barn's color. Wonder what those are for. ]

[ crushes some ice himself wordlessly. it's not a competition and he has no desire for it to be but there is a little bit of something to be said about the discrepancy between his own childhood stressors vs biscuit's childhood stressors. like he had his own problems, of course, but biscuit not having problems with his magic going out of control vs tart not having problems with scarcity are distinctly, like.

what is there to say, anyway, it's not like he can do anything retroactively for him—and it's not like either of them asked to be born in their respective positions. should he express sympathy? but he won't pity biscuit, these experiences are what have molded him to be the cunning, crafty underling that he is today. besides that, pity doesn't fill empty stomachs—it's just emptiness, wasted breath and words. the most effective, practical reaction to such an experience would be taking action, not offering platitudes.
