[ Looks around Bluebell (which currently has a broken wall, broken front door, vines overgrown all over, and covered in blood and feathers)
On top of just how it Normally Is
damn bitch you live like this?.jpg ]
Yeah . . . I guess I'd better take some initiative on that . . .

[how is Lily better at this than you guys when we're all skittish and suspicious motherfuckers, honestly.]

That's what I meant.

... just start small with... cleanin' up. Plantin' more in the garden. Things like that.

It's not sittin' around doin' nothin'! It's called delegatin'! And ya should be doin' that more often, anyway! Do ya want them to feel like they're useless after ya spent all night keepin' one of 'em from killin' the rest?
no subject
That's-- . . .
[ Exactly what Marlon said, isn't it.
Fuck . . . ]

Listen. Old habits die hard. Don't I know it. But y'ain't helpin' anyone if you're not gonna give 'em a chance to help themselves. Or you. Plus, they're all pretty young. You know young people want to prove themselves more than anyone.
If I hadn't told 'em Lily already worked on arrangements for them, I'm pretty sure Crescendo and Rubato woulda been more stubborn. They didn't like leavin' it all on you, y'know. So they're gonna worry about ya, and the best way to reassure 'em is to let them do somethin' that makes things a bit easier for ya.

Alright, alright, alright!!!
Sheesh . . . I'll try.

but nah, shoulder pat time!]
Good! Just write down a list of what ya would do and then ask who wants to do what. That generally gets the most engagement.
[or that's how he would do chore assignments in the orphanage, but y'know.]

From you.

well, that has him pulling back his hand--though he's waving it in a dismissive fashion]
Before I was a solo assassin, I did haveta wrangle a dozen kids or so. I might be rusty with it, but it's not like I completely forgot.

That's fair, I guess . . .
Little ones are easier than teenagers, though. The little ones just wanna beat you up, but the teenagers wanna hurt you in your soul.
no subject
... you say that but little kids can be cold, man. Little sociopaths haven't developed the empathy brains yet. [said in a vaguely fond manner but,] Teenagers usually have a goal behind their attacks. And generally, it's to establish superiority and independence. So definitely way more manageable.
