[Peace and quiet lasted almost 24 hours! If you don't count the brief gunfire at Rose in the afternoon. And any other intervening shenanigans people get into.

But now—

BOOMboomboomboomboom

You can hear several very loud explosions coming from town.

If you drag yourself out of bed to check it out, the new jail is looking significantly worse for wear. It was clearly vandalized even before the explosions, but now the majority of the outer walls are missing, leaving the jail cells open to the outside air. The freezer and the solitary confinement room appear to have escaped intact, though, and the interrogation room is probably still usable, if a bit more airy.]

[ Blood Fiend been keeping watch from the lighthouse, and had started heading over as soon as he'd seen Vicious.

now he's tapping the freezer, checking for damage. there is none. ]

[ opens the freezer. whatever Rubato stuffed in earlier is in there, oblivious to the explosion. butchered animal parts, I guess?

without looking at Vicious: ]

Big fan of violence, eh?

[ closes freezer ]

It’s still standing, hit it harder!

( zips out of lilybarn looking very frazzled and half-asleep in his cute lil robey jammies. he's floating a little above ground by courtesy of his big white wings. )

... when did this even get here?

( sniff sniff )

What is that smell? Seven Winds save us all, we leave for not even a full day and this happens.

[ waves cheerfully ]

[ gestures at wherever Vicious is ]

That guy fixed it. Loudly.

( flies over. )

I can barely tell what it is. Or was.

And aren't you a part of Rose? Does it not bother you?

[as the one at least partially responsible for vandalism, Lupin is here to watch the fireworks]

[and toss That Guy a fig]

The destruction doesn't bother me, no. Again, our mistake.

[ points at the unscathed deep freezer ]

This is what we had verbally agreed on as a reward for "winning" that game. Unfortunately, the demon's gift responded to the subconscious desire of... certain individuals.

[ his tone is level, casual, posture relaxed. now that he's not a sheep, body language is easy for him to keep in check. irritated ki flickers, not so much.

he's annoyed with himself more than anything else. he'd taken a back seat during the reward discussion, figuring that a verbal decision would take precedence; he'd been complacent. as a result, their reward had taken the form of a four year old's theatric vision and that newbie's arrogant sense of justice. ]

Well, it rings in my ears. I'm already wishing I was back in the forest.

( now that he's close, blood fiend will be able to tell or even sense the crystalline staff at perci's back. it radiates power like nothing else. perci has his own power, but this thing feels like a mirror and a magnifying glass put together. )

Are you alright? I didn't get to see you since Lily was busy in the forest.

[ sensing it loud and clear. tilts his head curiously, but doesn't comment. ]

Ah— how's Aides? I'm guessing you all made it out safely.

[ again with the ki flicker. ]

Don't worry, we'll make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again.

Better, thankfully. We had a few close calls, but nothing that impeded our progress too much.

[ looks at the surrounding space, eavesdroppers included ]

[Vicious leans over and peeks in the freezer. Huh! Food storage! That's handy he guesses. It can stay.]

Yup! It's my number one interest.

[Vicious glances at him and then winds up a kick at the nearest crumbling wall. It knocks a few more pieces of concrete loose.]

[That Guy catches the fig automatically, then looks at it.]

Huh. You got more o' these?

[ snorts ]

No wonder the snake summoned you.

[ byebye jail! up to the control center. feels like they were just here yesterday. ]

... That's an interesting weapon you have there.

( he pulls said staff from the little belt looping it around his back. )

It's an heirloom. One of two, actually. My fiance has the sword to pair with it.

[ typical Perci. shakes his head, lips quirking a little. ]

Do you know how these "game rewards" manifest?

No. ( mouth quirks. ) Lily hasn't won a game from what I know, so I haven't personally experienced it.
